A Fine Caprice
by Kate Harper
Rating: 4.0 Stars
Genre: Regency Romance
Price: $0.99

Confronted with an intolerable marriage to a man she cannot abide, Caprice Lambert decides to take refuge with her childhood friend and flees to Dorset and sanctuary. Dressed as a stableboy, she is determined not to return until her parents see reason and abandon their ridiculous plans.

But things go sadly awry when, upon arriving at what she thinks is her destination, she finds herself in the wrong house entirely. What initally seems like a disaster actually works out far better than she’d anticipated for she is discovered by the delightfully eligible Lord Merridew, a man beset by a multitude of problems.

In her guise as stableboy, Caprice finds her help enlisted as his lordship battles dubious relatives, French spies and the unexpected appearance of a body. It’s challenging, but it all fades into nothing next to her growing attraction to the man. It hardly seems fair that, the one time she meets somebody who might be able to steal her heart, she is stuck in a pair of breeches and looking like a street urchin!

But the situation changes when his lordship discovers her secret and realizes the boy he has come to trust is actually female and has been lying to him all along. And worse still, he cannot keep his hands off the lady. Caprice can tolerate being Lord Merridew’s servant but she cannot abide his displeasure and is desperate to explain her circumstances. Can Caprice come about? Or will she find that this time, bold deeds and a headstrong manner cannot save the day…

A sophisticated, put together career woman prior to having kids, now Liz Cartwright is lucky to go to the bathroom by herself, much less get out of the house wearing matching shoes and a clean shirt. While she is preoccupied with the sometimes mind-numbing responsibilities of motherhood, her husband is becoming increasingly distant and preoccupied with work, giving Liz the distinct impression that she is losing her husband along with her sense of identity. Armed with a book on spicing up her sex life purchased at a sex toy party and the help of her three best girlfriends, Liz embarks on an all-out attempt to rejuvenate her marriage and find personal fulfillment.

However, things in Liz’s life have a tendency to fail with hilarious results, and her attempts to woo her husband are no exceptions. Despite numerous setbacks—a pantiless tennis court seduction gone awry, a stolen vibrator and an unfortunate incident involving a thong—Liz is determined to reclaim her romantic mojo, until a chance encounter with her first love and a hobby that inadvertently turns into a job opportunity make Liz reevaluate what love inside marriage means and the price she is willing to pay to reclaim her sense of self-worth.

Katherine – definitely try holding down on the on button like diane describes, but sometimes it requires you to do it a few times before it reboots. Mine has done it a few times and it always terrifies me (how will I read without it – I am homebound…..). I hope it all works out for you!!

Katherine, have you tried holding down the on button for like 30 seconds, it kind of reboots the Kindle, I just had to do this. Hope it works!

My KINDLE is stuck!, and, though it is fully charged, I cannot open it to read it. I did try plugging in a cord to the little hole on the top of the reader, thinking it would make the audio work, it did not do that, and now won’t do anything. What can I do, or where should I take it. I
DO miss my KINDLE. Please help. Katherine Corelison, 256-715-0366
