They say history repeats itself, but perhaps the horrors of the past are also forgotten when the northern armies prepare to invade the south with one horrible result in mind.

In the midst of it all…war, hunger, and despair, an unlikely leader will emerge: a fourteen-year-old army scout named Caroline Mathers, who may also be the last of a special breed called Kinders. Are they human legends or deceitful traitors?

“…fun, refreshing and interesting…..a page turner and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished it.” -Nostradamus

Vatar risked his life to try to save his friend–and failed.
Now he has an implacable enemy in the vengeful shaman, who blames Vatar for the death of his only son. In his isolation, Vatar finds some comfort in daydreams. He knows the strange girl he sometimes imagines is just that–a dream. She’d better be.

Because, if she’s real things could get even worse for Vatar. The accepted magic of Vatar’s plains tribe wouldn’t enable him to see or communicate with a girl he doesn’t even know–or know where to find. That would be more like the magic passed down in certain, closely-guarded bloodlines among the ruling class of the coastal cities. And that’s bad. Very bad.

Unlike their own, Vatar’s people think the city magic is evil. If the shaman ever found out, it could be the weapon he needs to destroy Vatar. And yet, finding a way to accept the other side of his heritage may be the only way Vatar can ultimately defeat his enemy.

The two kinds of magic have always been totally separate. Until now.

For the earth’s first couple, obedience trumps rebellion then leads to redemption.

But what of their children?

Seduced by evil, Cain kills Abel then flees with his sister to the land of Nod. Bereaved of all their children in one day, Adam and Eve are heartbroken, but not until they both see a vision of Abel in Paradise with their childhood pets Lion and Lamb does Eve find the strength to wait upon the Lord for His blessing.

Though dead on earth, Abel’s soul lives on in Paradise, resting, learning from the old Cherub who God sent to teach the murdered son of Adam. He listens to the war songs the legions of angels sing that battle for his brother and sister and even his mother’s soul. But best of all, the angel elder tells him stories of Heaven and how one day, man and God will be reconciled.

Again the first couple is tested, and must wait upon the Lord’s blessing to begin again. Can they walk in obedience for seventy long years? And Cain’s offering is finally accepted, but by whom?

I don’t like this new formatting for your available books. It is hard to read and not very inviting to have to enlarge etc. Makes me just want to skip the whole thing.
