“A wild, tense, exciting ride that instantly grabs you by the neck and doesn’t let go!” -Rob Z.

Ovsanna Moore is the star of 17 blockbuster horror films, a few not quite so successful, and 3 that went straight to video. She’s also a 450-year-old vampire, whose clan includes Orson Welles and Theda Bara and most of Hollywood’s A-list actors…but not too many people know that.

Peter King is the poster boy for hunky Beverly Hills police detectives. When he detects Ovsanna’s pearly whites are often times bloodied fangs, instead of borrowing his mother’s garlic and holy water, he asks Ovsanna for a date. And a romantic Christmas Eve turns into a holiday of horror. Right through New Year’s.

First the paparazzi, then the werewolves, then the agents, and the rougarou at the Sportsmen’s Lodge–everyone wants a piece of Ovsanna. Literally. And it doesn’t help that Ovsanna’s personal assistant and sometimes lover is using black magick to get rid of Peter.

Ovsanna calls on her clan, the Vampyres of Hollywood, to help her and Peter fight for their lives against a menagerie of supernatural beasts that give John Carpenter’s The Thing a run for its money.

The Reverent Surrender

My father chose to end his own life. That is the elephant in my room…So begins The Reverent Surrender, James Finster’s deeply touching memoir about his father’s suicide. It’s a brutally honest perspective, but it’s also refreshing, skillfully avoiding an angry, self-pitying position on this painful and often taboo subject.

Everyone dies, it’s a truism in this life, yet many choose to go on their own terms. Is there not some form of honor to be found within this selfish act?

When he first set out to write his memoir, Finster’s goal was to help others who’d experienced the same heartbreak, but as the book evolved, he realized that everyone faces death with a different perspective, and each person’s response to suicide–and their grieving process–is unique.

Ultimately, this beautifully written book is dedicated to the memory of his father. It encourages the survivors of suicide to reflect on the life lost and embrace their loved one’s memories–while learning to let go of anger or blame and ultimately changing the underlying core of grief to one of acceptance…and healing.

My father’s time on this earth was but mere seconds in the scheme of the world. A small pivotal role played out on a stage for a select few. His life encompassed comedy, romance, satire, and tragedy.

All the genres to have made for a beautiful performance. And therefore as my reflection ends and the curtains set on that stage, I shall rise from my seat, applaud vigorously, and shout “encore.”

I will unscribe from your site. I thought it was for all e-readers, but as it’s only for Kindle and I have a Nook, there is no need for me to subscribe. It is a great site for the Kindle owners and I am dissapointed that I cannot use it.

Good Luck
