I have the Kindle Fire. It is the first book reader that I have ever owened. What special features does it have that others don’t?

I’d love to have the Fire, but I don’t. I have a Kindle w/o offers. Does anyone know if I can make subheadings under My Books to put them in categories? I’d like to have games, children’s books, recipes, etc. so I don’t have to search through all the pages to find what I’m looking for.
I’ve gone to Create a New Collection but I don’t know how to get books into the collections. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!!! I guess I”m a bit anal, but I like it organized!!!
