Moby Dick, or, the whale
by Herman Melville
Rating: 4.0 Stars
Genre: Literary Fiction
Price: $0.00 Save $1.99

When Ishmael sets sail on the whaling ship Pequod one cold Christmas Day, he is clueless to the horrors that await him on the vast and merciless ocean. The ship’s strange captain, Ahab, is in the grip of an obsession to hunt down the famous white whale, Moby Dick, and will stop at nothing on his quest to annihilate his nemesis. Considered a failure during Melville’s lifetime but now hailed as a classic American novel, Ishmael’s story combines symbolism and philosophical debate with gripping adventure narrative in an uncanny and unforgettable fashion. An extract from Narrative of the Most Extraordinary and Distressing Shipwreck of the Whale-ship Essex by Owen Chase—which inspired Melville’s own story—is also included.

The Story of the Three Little Pigs
by L. Leslie Brooke
Rating: 4.0 Stars
Genre: Children’s Books
Price: $0.00 Save $2.95

Brooke’s (1862-1940) story of the pigs is essentially the same as the well-known version except that after the wolf fails to blow down the third pig’s brick house, he tries four different ways to get to the pig so that he can eat him. This version tells how the third pig evades the wolf’s four attempts, the last being the well-known part of the tale. The story is well written and there is humor in the way Brooke tells the tale.

If the house was on fire, I would grab my Kindle first and then maybe come back for the rest.
