my husband shattered my screen on my last kindle and he contacted them and they replaced the whole thing for an additional $87.00 and I had to send the other one back. Not sure who you have tried to contact but Amazon was fabulous to listen to us. Now granted my Kindle was only a few months old.

love my Kindle reading more and enjoying quite a few freebees that have really been very good reading. Wish the newer books weren’t so expensive but will just wait until the prices are lower because the ereader is certainly less expensive than paying full price or wholesale.
