Chefs Walks SeattleAmazon just announced that Tom Douglas, celebrity chef and author, has written an eating and walking tour of Seattle. The book is called “Chef Walks: Seattle” and is available exclusively in the Kindle Store. The book is available now for $3.99 and is the first in a series of similar guides for different cities.

The guide gives readers tips on local delicacies and mentions Douglas’ favorite places to eat and drink in Seattle. It also includes city info such as where to go for great views and where to go to enjoy the Seattle music scene. Of course, the guide also has recipes that include local ingredients that you can use when cooking at your own home.

Douglas had this to say about his Seattle eating guide:

“Nobody knows better than a chef the ins and outs of a city’s culinary cupboard,” said Tom Douglas. “‘Chef Walks: Seattle’ on Kindle provides travelers–or Seattle locals–a portable guide to navigating Seattle like a pro.”

Douglas is an American Chef who has won the James Beard Award for Best Northwest Chef in 1994. He has many restaurants including Lola, Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie pizzerias, Palace Kitchen, Etta’s, the newly opened Seatown, Pike Place Market’s iconic seafood restaurant and Dahlia Bakery. He has also written Tom’s Big Dinners, I Love Crab Cakes, and Tom Douglas’ Seattle Kitchen which was named best American Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation.

Amazon had this to say about Douglas:

“We’re huge fans of Tom Douglas here in Seattle, and we think locals and tourists alike will enjoy exploring Seattle through his eyes,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content. “A Kindle device or the Kindle app on your phone are lighter and more portable than most printed guidebooks, allowing for a little extra space in your bag for local specialties like coffee or wild salmon.”
