Meet the Hermans: Lucy is a former art student who takes medication to control her depression. Alex is a neurodivergent internet pioneer with serious issues. They are soulmates, but something is missing, and they’re hard-pressed to figure out what.

Everything changes when a peculiar couple moves in next door: Old Frank and the sexy, fun-loving Kay. Frank seems like a solid guy; Kay is quirky and charming. Lucy is excited to have a new friend. She and Kay quickly form a close bond.

As the women get to know each other, Lucy begins to feel a sense of excitement and freedom in Kay’s presence, and more passion for living than she has in years.
