You cannot hide from your sins.

A disgraced financier is found hanging on the end of a rope. A note has been left in his apartment. Reported as a simple suicide, the fraudster’s demise is considered no loss to the world. He leaves behind no friends in the city.

Returning after his near-death experience, DI Jack Husker is given the case as an easy reintroduction to work. His only role is to confirm the verdict. And yet one conversation with an eager crime scene officer sees Jack asking questions to which there are no answers.
