Carol Lacey is devasted her only son, Justin, is going away again for Christmas. Carol and Don always try to ensure they enjoy Christmas on their own, but it isn’t the same as when Justin was young. Times change, Carol knows that, and she decides to do something about it.

Seraphina’s Lakeside Lodge is available over the Christmas period, and the Lacey’s are heartened when several of the neighbours are keen to join them. It seems like the perfect solution, until the Appleby’s invite themselves along.

Edna Appleby doesn’t socialise with the neighbours and is renowned for staying in bed whenever she’s having a “bad day”. Still, the Cassidy children, Lottie and Jack, are the perfect age to bring Christmas cheer to everyone.

Snow falls thick and fast, turning the neighbours’ holiday home into a magical winter wonderland. Before long, secrets are revealed, surprising friendships are formed, and there’s every chance of romance . . .
