Lily had her life planned, neat and tidy as thread on a spindle, until her mother died and her father snipped at the seams of her future by abandoning Lily in their shop. A nobleman unexpectedly gives her hope when he brings fabric for a special garment. Lily survives on his first payment, and immerses herself in sewing and embroidering an incomparable tunic for him, as her tidy plan continues to unravel.

Theophilus, Lord of Ribeauville, takes his responsibility to his townspeople seriously and, therefore, does not dally with local women. Desire wars with duty when Lily glances up at him while adjusting the hem on his Easter tunic. As her deteriorating circumstances push them together, Theo and Lily learn that the path to his heart just might be through his wardrobe, though the exquisite outfit she creates is the only part of her that fits in his precarious aristocratic world.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I love this series by Jill Hughey. The early medieval setting is a refreshing change, the characters memorable, the plot intricately woven. Kept me reading well past my bedtime and it’s a book I would read over and over, something I rarely do.

This novel is quite long, because I believe it takes the time to be genuine. Not all problems are solved overnight, well, not in a meaningful and long lasting way.

The third of the trilogy did not disappoint. Just like the others, this can be read independently. Thank you, Jill! Wonderful writing and a beautiful story. Please start on your next novel!

I had not (before this series) read much from that time period and found that the author had done her homework and really made it come alive for me. The only problem was not having time to read it in one sitting. I carried the Kindle version with me everywhere I went and used stolen snippets of time to finish each book.

I loved all three books in the Evolution series. Beautiful writing, interesting characters, and great stories. The best kind of series. Each book stands on its own, but is enriched by the others. All three are love stories, yet each is completely unique.

About The Author

The most interesting fact about Jill Hughey is that she can sing really, really high. As in opera-singer high. But she only does that when she is not writing, working part time as a business administrator, running her two teenaged sons around, and enjoying the support of her wonderful husband. Her ideal afternoon is spent sitting on her front porch with an iced coffee as she moves the characters in her head into her laptop. Happy reading!

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – Jill Hughey and ENT appreciate it.
