Former soldier Harper Knox is done with battle. He’s moved home to his farm in eastern Washington, hoping life among the vines will conquer his PTSD. But when an old friend offers Harper a generous payday if he’ll join a security detail in Seattle, Harper finds he’s too hungry for the cash–and the danger–to say no. The job: protect a scientist at the controversial Singularity Summit, a conference celebrating artificial intelligence.

When things go horribly wrong and two people end up dead, Harper and Italian mercenary Francesca Daly take down the perpetrators but are left with nothing but questions. Who were the two criminals, both women? What does the symbol branded onto their bodies mean? And why did one woman have a note in her pocket that read “Forgive me?” As Harper and Francesca dig deeper–and fall deeper in love–the truth leads them to a shocking discovery…and right into a deadly trap.

A rapid-fire thriller with suspenseful twists you won’t see coming, Turn or Burn will hook you from the first page to the last into a world where belief, technology, and scientific intrigue collide…and nothing is what it seems. Whether you read books like Ready Player One or the next Dan Brown, you’ll feel right at home.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Crazy yet intriguing twists and turns from the get go! Boo’s layered plot paired with great central and side characters makes this an exciting, confounding and fun read. As a sailor, let me say that the writer does a terrific job throughout of tacking like a seasoned captain on the open ocean with constantly shifting wind and water conditions.

Smooth reading, well done. Well thought out, very captivating. Enough flourish and style to make you feel as if you were there, excellent pace and flow to keep you there.

I absolutely loved this book. Action, adventure, mystery, good characters with just the right amount of romance tossed in. A real winner.

An action-filled, quick read. Boo Walker’s Harper Knox is a man’s man, even if he is more than a little damaged. The story surrounds what happens when scientific, philosophical and religious dogma get carried to their extremes.

I really enjoyed this book. It has just the right mix of mystery and suspense with a dash of romance and a splash of humor. Well written and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

About The Author

After picking the five-string banjo in Charleston and Nashville and then a few years toying with Wall Street, Boo chased a wine dream across the country to Red Mountain in eastern Washington with his dog, Tully Mars. They landed in a double-wide trailer on five acres of vines, where Boo grew out a handlebar mustache, bought a horse, and took a job working for the Hedges family, who taught him the art of farming and the old world philosophies of wine.

Recently leaving his farm on Red Mountain, Boo and his family are back on the east coast in what’s called the Portland of Florida, St. Pete. As he wraps up the second book of the Red Mountain series, he’s got his eyes and ears open, building his next cast of characters. No doubt the Sunshine City will be host to the next few novels. The author of Lowcountry Punch, Off You Go, Turn or Burn, and Red Mountain, Boo’s novels are instilled with the culture of the places he’s lived, the characters he’s encountered, and a passion for unexpected adventure.
