The end of the world is just the beginning of the hunt…

Estes Park Police Chief Marcus Colton and tracker Sam ‘Raven’ Spears have never liked one another, but when a young girl goes missing in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colton hires Spears to help find her. Their search ends after a night of devastating horror. When word reaches Estes Park that the nation has been hit by a coordinated electromagnetic pulse attack, Colton and Spears are forced to work together again. But they quickly realize they aren’t just tracking a killer–they are tracking a madman. As the United States descends into chaos, the hunters become the hunted.

Halfway across the country, Senator Charlize Montgomery awakes to find the nation’s capital has gone dark. Forced to set off on foot, she treks across a city that has woken to a new world, and as the night progresses, she learns the EMP attack was just the beginning…

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Once again, Nicholas Sansbury Smith does not leave me disappointed. A fantastic book that I found incredibly hard to put down. The story is set in a small mountain town after an EMP strike with a serial killer on the loose. Absolutely amazing story telling and great character devlopment. I like how he uses an EMP strike without using zombies or a completely crazed society. Very realistic!

One of his best yet. Nick has brought a fresh look at the survival EMP story with not just an apocalyptic event in the US but also a horrific serial killer terrorizing the town of Estes Park in Colorado along with a separate nuclear attack on DC. This book combines these stories and brings to life the devastating after effects of an EMP while describing the beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery around Estes Park. I devoured this book, loved his diverse characters and the interacting scenarios.

Smith has taken his finesse and artistic craft, the suspense, military details, excellently crafted stories, engaging and heart-warming (protagonists) characters, the thrill, even the horror, and transferred these elements into a completely different post-apocalyptic tale.

I’ve been a fan of Smith for a while now, so I did not hesitate to tag along through the adventures of another tale regardless of the genre. Of course, it was a good investment. A well written and researched tale that is surprisingly plausible. The characters are real enough that their characteristics resemble many people that I know or have met. Smith has solidly proven himself in the path as able to tell a good tale and this work does nothing but entrench himself on my list of authors that I look for when browsing new releases.

This is a post-apocalyptic thriller that is unlike any other. Not only does it weave a compelling tale of world war, but interjects a murder mystery into the mix. It is fast paced and anyone looking for a thrill ride will find it with Trackers. I look forward to Trackers II. He is one author who doesn’t disappoint.
