A haunted library is no place for a girl who can see ghosts, but when Verity Long stumbles on a dead body in the middle of the main reading room, she has to believe someone…even a dead someone…must have witnessed the crime.

Her ghostly sidekick Frankie warns her to stay out of it. The very alive, very handsome deputy sheriff, Ellis Wydell, inadvertently places her directly in the middle of it. And her ex-fiancé, Ellis’s brother, is back with an agenda of his own.

Undaunted, Verity presses forward, uncovering scandalous secrets, long-forgotten ghosts, and a shocking trail of clues that places her directly in the path of a killer.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

This book was such a delight to read! The characters are fun and light-hearted, the plot was well-executed, the animosity between Verity and Mrs. Wydell very funny, and, overall, a very enjoyable read; I read the book in one setting and enjoyed every minute.

Good pace, setting, plot and well-developed characters. The story is a good mix of humor, mystery, romance and long-term character story lines. The conflict between Verity and her almost mother-in-law, ex-fiancé and his brother is a fun side story to the mystery as is Frankie’s predicament. All in all a good story with depth and many layers and story lines overlapping.

This is another fun and entertaining read by Angie Fox…I love this series because it is well written and likeable characters not to mention entertaining. This is a good series to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee.

Book two in this great series is even better than book one. I love the suspenseful plot. And Ms Fox writes all of her characters with such depth. Even the secondary character of Maisie is so well written. 3 cheers for this series.

Verity is a very likeable character as well as her pet skunk, Lucy. The tone is light-hearted and funny, even though they are dealing with murder and ghosts! I like seeing Verity and Ellis’ relationship start to develop and Frankie becoming more attached to Verity as well. I will continue on with this series. I would recommend to anyone who likes a light-hearted series and ghost stories!
