The Shadowdance Trilogy chronicles the childhood, training, and rise to power of Haern, the Watcher of Veldaren.

A DANCE OF CLOAKS – Aaron has been groomed since birth to be heir of an underworld empire. Yet when sent to kill the daughter of a priest, Aaron instead risks his own life to protect her from the wrath of his guild. In doing so, he glimpses a world beyond poison, daggers, and the iron control of his father.

A DANCE OF BLADES – When the son of Alyssa Gemcroft, one of the three leaders of the powerful Trifect, is believed murdered, slaughter begins anew in the streets of Veldaren. Mercenaries flood the city with one goal in mind: find and kill Aaron, now known as Haern, the King’s Watcher.

A DANCE OF DEATH – Haern travels south to confront a copycat killer, finding a city ruled by the corrupt, the greedy, and the dangerous. Rioters fill the streets, and the threat of war with the mysterious elves hangs over all. To stop it, Haern must confront the deadly Wraith, and the man he might become.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Having picked up the first first title “A Dance of Cloaks” I was instantly struck at how well written the story was. Dalglish is truly a master of words and his dark fantasy tale of Haern proves this time and time again. It is a must read for anyone that is seeking a darker fantasy.

I picked up the first book of the Shadowdance Trilogy, and could not put the book down. I suggest going ahead, and picking up the entire trilogy because once you begin reading you are not going to want to wait to begin the 2nd and 3rd book.

As someone who’s read, loved, and then reviewed each novel contained within this omnibus, I can tell any who read this that this set of books is well worth anyone’s time. Individually, all three books are among the best fantasy I’ve read.

This was another wonderful read by David Dalgish. All I can say is it had me falling asleep reading my kindle every night until I finished the book, which isn’t something I normally do… If you haven’t read any of his work, this is a great one to read but I will warn you, you wil get drawn in and will want more.

I love books but I have never wrote a review before, moreover this one totally deserved it. I could not believe after “A Clash of Kings” I would spend all day locked in my room reading and that is what just happened when I started the Shadowdance Trilogy. For the this price I thought it was going to be something just “good” but it is a story that deserve a 5 starts rating.
