Five years after releasing the love of his life to another man, Robert Holland struggles with remorse about his past decisions. Chained in a loveless marriage of convenience and strangled by duty, he wallows in regret and drink.

Everything in his life changes, when on holiday in Paris, he meets a young boy and his former rival. Suddenly, he finds himself thrown into a whirlwind of deceit and lies as he searches for the meaning of truth and love. Just like innocence, deception carries a price.

Book Two of the Legacy Series weaves a tangled web of deceit and dire consequences, which in the end rearranges everyone’s life on a path of either good or evil.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Vicki Hopkins keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Finished this book in one day! The title is befitting of its content. You are definitely drawn into the world of its characters. I’ve had some OMG moments and quite a few gasps with a conclusion that leaves you anticipating the third book in this series! This has been one of the best reads ever.

I needed a fun read that I could lose myself in and this definitely did the trick. From the first page to the last I loved it! I liked it even more than the first book in the series. The pacing and writing were wonderful!

Ms. Hopkins is truly a great weaver of stories. Her first book drew me in and I bought the second with high hopes, I was not disappointed. Sometimes the price of love is not easy and these books tell it so well. I applaud her gift of writing and I can not wait for the conclusion.

I have been a fan of Ms. Hopkins’ work for quite a while now and she has definitely delivered again with The Price of Deception. I love how the tension of the book remained constant throughout. Her characters were extremely well conceived and developed.

This story moved along at a good pace and there was a lot of action going on pretty much throughout. I was impressed and really enjoyed the book from start to finish and did no skimming/skipping at all.
