Wyoming Territory, 1885. On a train in the middle of nowhere, a young woman suddenly collapses. Fellow passenger Dr. Robert Devlin, a widower traveling with his five-year-old daughter, responds immediately to the medical emergency. What he finds when he examines his new patient both shocks and outrages him, and soon he is tangled up in her no-way-out, life-or-death plight.

Teresa Rutledge has taken her toddler son and run for their lives. Fleeing her wealthy, cruelly abusive husband, knowing there is nowhere they will be safe for long, she is at the end of her strength and at the end of her rope.

Determined to protect Tess and her child, Rob takes them home to his sister, Annie, and her husband, former cavalry Captain Michael Cantrell. As Tess regains her health, she and Rob fall passionately in love. But she is trapped in a brutal marriage, and on a desperate flight from a powerful, violent man determined never to let her go.

This much-anticipated sequel to bestselling, Orange Rose Award finalist Terms of Surrender lets readers catch up with their favorite characters from the original story, while also being a wonderfully suspenseful, emotional, and exciting stand-alone novel in its own right.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I enjoyed every word and was sad to have the story end. The epilogue finishes the story so nicely. I do read a lot of western romance. I will definitely read these two books again. Good plots with enough romance to enhance the story but not be the only purpose for the writing.

Read this book because I think you’ll like it. It’s a comfortable, enjoyable read. I usually read mysteries and crime novels so this was a change of pace for me. It was a very nice book. I appreciate the change of pace so I think I’ll also be looking at reading the other books this author has written.

Lorrie Farrelly has the knack of writing fast-moving, compelling fiction that is also extremely well written. Her characters are big and bold and colorful, and you empathize with every one.

A fast moving story that catches your attention from the very start. Strong characters and good dialog, with a hint of paranormal all set in 1885 Wyoming. I would recommend this series.

Ms. Farrelly tells an unusual tale that kept me reading and not wanting to put it down. Her characters are real, her situations unusual, and her story telling unique. Very well done.
