In a kingdom where magic sleeps, dreams can be deadly.

The land of Ryferia mourns the death of its king. But the king’s sister has no time for grief. Not when her brother’s murderer walks free. Not when her reign is threatened by the stigma of forbidden magic in her blood. Not when dark forces spin the thread of her destiny, with enemies in every shadow.

Princess Aurora must marry to secure her throne, but no one in Ryferia will take a bride tainted by magic. She forces the great sentinels of steam and iron to open the gates of the kingdom so that foreign princes may compete for her hand and heart in the legendary, deadly royal trials.

Two lords with dark secrets of their own and an all-consuming desire for revenge turn the trials into a crucible of blood and fire. It’s a fight to the death-and it might just be Aurora’s.

Enter a thrilling world of magic, intrigue, and romance in this edgy, genre-crossing retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty fairy tale from bestselling authors Gwynn White and Erin St. Pierre.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Gwynn White and Erin St Pierre are brand new authors for me, and Queen of Extinction was a spectacular introduction. This book had pretty much everything, non-stop action, intrigue, loyalty and betrayal, thrills and suspense, battle and courtly politics, magic and magical creatures (evil incubi and a neat take on the Fae, etc.), the potential (that had better work out) for romance, and even a tournament and an evil uncle.

Fantastic read. Emotionally moving, exciting, heartbreaking, the full spectrum. I will continue, to find out how dearest uncle gets his comeuppance! Strong female lead who has endured so much. That saying is true, what does not kill you serves to make you stronger.

This is a very unique story unlike any other that I have read. Once I started reading it I couldn’t stop. So many surprises around each corner with lots of action also. I admired Aurora’s strength of will and determination to do right by the downtrodden people in her kingdom.

I was hooked from page one! This is one of the most exciting and intriguing stories I have read in a long time. I loved the characters, particularly that of the heroine Aurora and the mysterious Jorah, and I was fascinated with all the different creatures and magical beings that were introduced.

This twist on magic and two populations of diverse people is outstanding! The Guardians are something I have never encountered in all my years of reading; awesome! Aurora and Jorah are fated to be together, they just don’t see it. Definitely going to get the next book in the series!

About The Authors

Gwynn White

I’m a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of science fiction and fantasy novels set on distant planets. All my stories have an adventure at the heart mixed with a liberal sprinkling of romance and intrigue. To confuse things, I also write adventure travel books set firmly on planet Earth.

I live in Western Australia with my husband, Andrew, my three daughters, a yapping Toy Pomeranian, and a fantastic farm cat called Pixel.

When I’m not writing, I’m reading, traveling, herding kids around, taking dogs for walks and avoiding all cooking.

Erin St. Pierre

Erin St Pierre is a twenty-year-old New York Times and USA Today bestselling author and world traveler. South African born, she has lived in three different countries on three different continents. Still, that is not enough. She wants to travel the world, writing, drinking hot chocolate, and eating cheesecake. She currently lives in Western Australia (who knows how long that will last) with the best cat in the world. She started writing at around fifteen or sixteen, and Queen of Extinction is her first published work. And it will definitely not be her last.

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – Gwynn White, Erin St. Pierre and ENT appreciate it.
