And that’s just the beginning. Whitney shares the ridiculous highs and excruciating lows of her catapult into motherhood. Enjoy the ride as this new mom vows to give up profanity while falling in love with… you guessed it, Costco. Be careful, because if you’re anything like Whitney, you may just pee a little.

Motherhood Martyrdom & Costco Runs takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions as Whitney plummets into postpartum depression, desperately tries to get her kids to stop yodeling in public restrooms, and comes to terms with the fact she’ll never quite be queen of her own kingdom.

Get ready to laugh, cry, cheer, and pat yourself on the back for the sake of mommies everywhere. And while you’re at it, stop by Costco for a case of toilet paper and a Very Berry Sundae. You won’t regret it!

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I love the humor, heart and honesty in this book! I was laughing hours later thinking about [Whitney’s] stories. Every mother needs this book. Motherhood is no easy task and there are days that I am certain I am ruining my kids and every other mother is Mother of the Year. Dineen has written a book that allowed me to feel like I was part of a club; a club of mothers who are not perfect, who make mistakes but love with all their heart. I love that Dineen gave us permission to be imperfect because perfect is very boring.

Whitney’s book, her voice, and experience share [are] hilarious but also raw, honest, and beautiful. If taken to heart and mind, this book can help drive you to do good in the world and in your own personal life both as a mother and as a person.

Motherhood Martyrdom & Costco Runs is a collection of smart, sassy, and slightly contained madness essays about the joy/stressful/and funny, humorous events that enliven every parent’s life. Ms. Dineen brings you directly into the unvarnished and true-stranger-than-fiction trenches of everyday, chaotic, parenthood life, filled with misadventures, unique parenting challenges, and throughout, infused with love, warmth, and of course, snarky humor (all amidst the backdrop of Costco)!

I have one word of advice for anyone preparing to read Motherhood Martyrdom and Costco Runs before they get started: use care where you read this book. The reason is simple. You see, you are likely to laugh out loud . . . repeatedly. As laughter makes for good medicine, I encourage you to grab your copy of this little gem soon. We could all use a little humor and a little healing!

A must read for every seasoned, new and expecting mother. Whitney shares her journey through motherhood with such raw honesty that will make you laugh, cry and possibly even tinkle a little.
