Today’s Book Of The Day is a Suspense/Thriller by Bestselling author Scott Nicholson. Liquid Fear has a 3.8 star rating and is only $2.99!

“More excellent stuff from Mr Nicholson – a sharply written thriller while still maintaining that Nicholson vibe I’ve come to love. Tightly plotted, and keying in to current fears and headlines, this is another winner to add to his already impressive catalog. Long may he continue.” William M. – Amazon Reviewer

When Roland Doyle wakes up in an unfamiliar motel room with a strange man’s wallet in his pocket and a woman’s dead body in the bathroom, he fears the worst…and that’s before he finds the vial of pills labeled “take one every 4 hrs or else.” Or else what? Ten years ago, Dr. Sebastian Briggs’s clinical drug trial for a cutting-edge fear-response drug went horribly wrong — or did it? It’s true that one trial participant died and five others were left with no memory of what happened to them. But now several interested parties, including a major pharmaceutical company and an ambitious U.S. senator, are willing to back Briggs’s continued research. All he has to do is recall his five surviving “volunteers,” whose addiction to a mysterious drug has left them largely at his disposal. They will do anything necessary to keep the pills coming and to stave off the creeping phobias, intense sexual impulses, and all-consuming madness that lurk on the edges of their minds. It’s easy enough for the good doctor to lure the survivors back to the remote Monkey House, where the original trials took place. But when the pills finally run out…that’s when the real show begins.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Nicholson is a real master of craft; he can keep you on the edge of your seat with the best of them. This book is a bit outside what he usually writes, but old fans as well as new should enjpy, and I can’t wait for the sequel. The book also raises some very timely issues that will provoke as well as entertain. Highly recommended!

I began reading Liquid Fear one day before work last week when I had a few minutes to kill. I wound up clocking in late. I just didn’t want to stop reading! Scott Nicholson drops the reader right in the nail-biting middle of the action and doesn’t give you even a second to catch your breath before pushing you out into the twisted thick of it.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. And you will, too.

From the first sentence I am immediately transported into a world so realistic that the awe-ful and terrifying live on the other side of the wall. Mr. Nicholson’s ability to render up images with a vividness that makes the reader an eager and willing participant is almost without compare. I am enraptured with his characters, no matter the status of their moral integrity. I come to love the antagonists just as much as the protagonists and the back-stage helpers and hinderers. For the duration of any of Mr. Nicholson’s stories, and even after I turn the final page, I live in the worlds he creates and I thank the Universe that I do.
