Award-Winning Author

Sisters Skylar and Jo Beth adore skiing and they virtually share the same soul. After an accident, Jo Beth flees to Brazil, leaving Skylar behind in Colorado to obsessively read the Brontë sisters.

While abroad, Jo Beth meets Mitch and her life takes some unexpected turns, until tragedy leads free-spirited Mitch right into Skylar’s empty arms.

With their Heathcliff/Catherine romance in full swing, Skylar wants to trust Mitch, but did he harm her sister? Loving Mitch could make Skylar lose everything.

Just Like the Brontë Sisters is an unconventional romantic page-turner inspired by Daphne du Maurier’s My Cousin Rachel, full of magical realism, literary references, a ghost, and some healthy doses of suspense.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Like most of Osterkamp’s books, Just Like the Bronte Sisters is a page turner. The pace is quick and surprises come around all the corners. As always, great characters with quirky and complicated relationships. Definitely worth a read.

I loved that the author left small hints along the way so that the reader could guess at the big mystery’s solution. Lots of twists before it is revealed, but the subtle hints were just right — not too obvious and not a case of the solution coming totally out of left field. All in all, an enthralling story, well-written and compelling.

Must-read for gothic literature enthusiasts or anyone who enjoys a great read!! Ultimately, the story is a compelling journey of self-discovery and empowerment, freeing oneself from the expectations of others, and figuring out how to “thine own self be true”.

This captivating book grabbed me from page one! Kudos to author Laurel Osterkamp for a very well-written story of sisterhood, suspense, the supernatural, and romance. I very highly recommend this read!

I decided to step out of my norm and give this book a try. I’m glad I did! It wasn’t what I expected at all. There was plenty of drama, and I appreciated that the intimate scenes were not graphic nor detailed. The question of what really happened lingered until the end, which was a surprise.
