Neurosurgeon Julia Nolan places cortical implants into the brains of field operatives to record data from their auditory and visual cortices. One of her subjects, an operative named Ian Westhelle, suffers a psychotic break and kills his handler before he can be recovered.

Julia tracks Ian to an asylum where the CIA warehouses insane former soldiers, scientists, and others with security risks too great for conventional psychiatric wards. Agents from the national intelligence directorate discover her snooping and target her for elimination.

A collaboration between award-winning writer Michael Wallace and international bestselling author Jeffrey Anderson, Implant is a heart-pounding thriller that will keep readers guessing until the final, chilling conclusion.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I wasn’t very far into Implant when I started telling friends and family about what a phenomenal writer Michael Wallace is. I likened him to several of the top ten suspense writers, on bestseller lists, that I’ve ever read. He takes the readers on a journey to faraway places, root for patients in a mental institution, want to physically maim some bad guys, etc. This is a must read for readers who enjoy a thrilling ride.

This book was fantastic, just when I thought I knew where it was going, surprise.. a twist. I actually think this might be my favorite book by Michael Wallace. The story has something for everyone… intrigue, action, romance, friendship, loyalty. Is is worth every penny of the cost. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

A truly exciting and face paced thriller that I couldn’t put down. The author developed the plot and characters in a well paced manner. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This story rides on greased rails. From the moment Ian gets his implant, through the turbulent ups and downs of the plot, I was fully engrossed in the plot and characters. The science feels cutting edge and realistic and the geopolitical element feels quite plausible. Most technothrillers suffer from being heavy on the techno, light on the thriller, and non-existent on characters. Implant shines on all three accounts. It is clear that the writers understand both medical science and the military aspect of the story. And the characters are engaging, with lively dialogue and real chemistry. The unpleasant villains are nuanced and not cardboard cutouts, like you usually see in this type of book.

If you’re looking for a gripping technothriller that doesn’t leave you feeling stupider when you finish it, I highly recommend Implant, by Anderson and Wallace.

About The Authors

I’ve trekked across the Sahara on a camel, ridden an elephant through a tiger preserve in Southeast Asia, eaten fried guinea pig, and been licked on the head by a skunk. In a previous stage of life I programmed nuclear war simulations, smuggled refugees out of a war zone, and milked cobras for their venom. I speak Spanish and French and grew up in a religious community in the desert.

I hope you enjoy my books as much as I’ve enjoyed my crazy life. I welcome email from readers at
