Kendra, a young single mother, finds herself abandoned by everyone in her life. After her father’s death, her mother remarries and moves far away, her boyfriend jilts her, and finally her roommate evicts her. Her prayers for help appear to be answered when she finds a new home and a circle of new Christian friends.

Her new life leads her directly into the path of the one person she has despised and feared since their first encounter years ago. Her instinct is to run, but her new faith teaches her to forgive. Can she make peace with the past without risk to herself or her daughter?

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Susan Correll Foy’s characters are just like the people in your life. They struggle and react, and not always well. I appreciate how the characters allowed me to consider how I might respond…and even if I judge. Well done.

Finding Father is a wonderful story that deals the emotions and circumstances surrounding singles looking for mates, singles with children, singles with families that love them, and singles without families, with the subtext on how fathers play an important part of our lives. The book gracefully deals with some very hard issues and was thought provoking. The characters are compelling and the story left me wanting more.

I loved this book! The author draws you into the characters, their emotions and the story right off. The characters and the storyline are very real, touching your heart with raw emotion. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time.

I was impressed by how ‘real’ the story is……while fictional, this is no fantasy. You will feel you are part of the group and it’s just about impossible to not connect at some level with one of the characters as you ride along in this genuine relational journey. You can’t help but connect to your own relational journey in life as you move along with Kendra through hers. The author’s connection to authentic personas in life is uncanny.

I really enjoyed the building of characters and being pulled into the struggles they faced and how the various temptations of life were included. The difficult scenarios were not all sugar coated which helps the reader to identify with the heartache that sometimes happens. All of us have experienced some of the same things to greater and lessor degree. Great read!
