I’m a total mess. My boyfriend dumped me – get this – because I diet too much. Not because I’m fat, mind you. Of course, this spurs me into the diet-fitness-revenge-plan of the century, which leads me to the gym and a scorching hot personal trainer.

I even manage to make some cool new friends, including a millionaire if you can believe it. Things are looking up! Naturally, that’s the moment my ex decides he wants me back, the personal trainer asks me out, and my millionaire male buddy decides to throw his hat in the ring. But that’s not enough drama. No, not for me. Because I’ve also lost my job and decided to start my own business. Just call me Ms. Drama.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

The romantic aspect added yet another dimension to the story. Funny, sweet, sexy, and at times, even frustrating, I was captivated. I won’t go into detail about the men in Everly’s life because I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will just say, I was totally swooning.

Lots of humor in this story, as well as very realistic characters who are easily relatable. The author is going to have to do something incredibly amazing to top this one….but I’ll be satisfied with more stories of this quality.

An uplifting and fun read with laughs. This story deals with weight and dieting which can be a touchy subject, but in a fun way. Everly gets dumped by her boyfriend of years because she diets too much. This is a relatable story to anyone who has had or dealt with being overweight, and in no way judges those who are underweight just has more of a focus the other way. The Author gives a great anti-hate/bullying message at the end of the book, along with a positive thought from Everly at the beginning of every chapter.

I loved this, I don’t think I ever smiled so much reading a book. This is just one of those stories that you will not want to put down. Made me laugh, think, and reflect. The most important thing is that I enjoyed every word especially the interactions between the characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the author because this was a great book that needs to be read.

The author’s quirky sense of humor shines through everywhere in this delightful romantic comedy which is, in fact, a cleverly-disguised weight-loss manual. The book realistically portrays the trials and tribulations of dieting, without belaboring the point. At its heart, ‘Fat Girl Begone!’ is an exploration of female friendship and the perils of dating. A true gem!

About The Author

I grew-up reading everything I could get my grubby hands on from my mom’s Harlequin romances to Nancy Drew to Little Women. When I wasn’t flipping pages in a library book, I was penning horrendous poems, writing songs no one should ever sing, or drafting stories, which have thankfully been destroyed. College and a stint in the U.S. Army came along, robbing me of free time to write and read, although on the odd occasion I did manage to sneak a book into my rucksack between rolled up socks, MRIs, t-shirts, and cold weather gear. After surviving the army experience, I went back to school and got my law degree. I jumped ship and joined the hubby in the Netherlands before the graduation ceremony could even begin. A few years into my legal career, I was exhausted, fed up, and just plain done. I quit my job and sat down to write a manuscript, which I promptly hid in the attic after returning to the law. But being a lawyer really wasn’t my thing, so I quit (again!) and went off to Germany to start a B&B. Turns out being a B&B owner wasn’t my thing either. I polished off that manuscript languishing in the attic before following the husband to Istanbul where I decided to give the whole writer-thing a go. But ten years was too many to stay away from adopted home. I packed up again and moved to The Hague where I’m currently working on my next book. I hope I’ll always be working on my next book.

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – D.E. Haggerty and ENT appreciate it.
