A powerful story about the resilience of true love, inspired by a biblical account of greatness, courage, and foretold prophecy…

Princess Michal was the youngest daughter of Saul, the first king of Israel. In an age when fathers arranged marriages, Michal dared to fall in love with a handsome young musician named David, from the little town of Bethlehem.

As recounted in the Bible, Michal helped David escape from her insanely jealous father. King Saul punished his daughter with a forced marriage to a distant war lord. Princess Michal unexpectedly returns from seven years of exile to find a changed world. Most of her relatives are dead. David has become King of Judea. He has acquired six additional wives, one of whom is a princess from Geshur. Michal longs to have a son to reign over Israel and reestablish the rule of King Saul’s heirs. But each royal wife has hopes of placing her own son on the throne.

Can Princess Michal’s love for King David survive war, madness, infidelity, and betrayal?

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

It is well written, descriptive and intriguing. Ms. Havel and Ms. Faucheux did an amazing job of storytelling and weaving the past into an extremely interesting read.

Whether or not you are familiar with this particular story from the Bible, you will find yourself involved in the story almost immediately. From the very beginning, the story pulls you into the life of Michal, the first wife of David. Her story is filled with emotion and suspense. You will appreciate and celebrate the strength of her character during a time when women had few choices in their lives. This is a refreshing take on a story from the Bible from a woman’s perspective.

It is obvious that a lot of time was well spent on research. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Hopefully, the authors will be around for quite a while.

Initially, the stunning cover art drew me to the book, but the strength of the story kept me captivated. Against a vibrant backdrop of sights and sounds, Princess Michal–daughter of King Saul–recounts the passionate love she shared with David on his journey from shepherd to King of Israel. I recommend this book to all readers who have a love for scripture and a yearning for romance. Admittedly, I read the last page through a veil of satisfied tears.

I found myself almost immediately caught up in the story of Michal, the daughter of Saul and the senior wife of David. Writing historical fiction using characters from scripture, particularly one as well known as David, has its perils but Havel and Faucheux pull it off beautifully.
