Angela’s Diner has the reputation of a safe haven where patrons find a moment of peace as they linger over coffee and tears. For one young runaway, Angela’s is more than a place to tell your tale — it’s a place where with the magic of chicken and waffles, and a little bit of trust, may just save your life.

Gabriella Santiago used to be a typical teenager who enjoyed the usual teenage things. That is until a single tragic day ended who she was and within hours she ran from home, never to look back.

Only when Gabby is cold, hungry and at her lowest, does she find Angela’s Diner. Gabby embraces her new life and the family she has found in the midst of strangers and obscurity.

Acceptance is what she craves, but before long, Gabby realizes she’s not the only one in the diner with something to hide. Her new family has a secret too, and some secrets refuse to stay buried.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Grab a cup of coffee and settle in for one fantastic read! This book really grabbed me! The characters are so well developed…you can just see them in that diner going about their business. The relationships that unfold during the book really will pull you in. This is truly a must read…great story, great characters…I didn’t want it to be over!

What a heartwarming tale of friendship and loyalty. The characters in this book have painful pasts, so they try to help others in the same boat. I couldn’t put it down! I’ll be looking for more books by Brian Spangler.

This was a very enjoyable read, very hard to put down and walk away from. The author draws you into the characters so you feel like friends and you are sitting there, chatting with people you know and relate too. I would purchase from this author again and highly recommend this book and author.

This is my book for 2012! I just cannot imagine one being better this. And I read – a lot. This was one of those rare books that you can’t quit reading yet never want to end. Wow!!!!

I enjoyed this book thoroughly on many levels. The writing demonstrates a strong control of the craft, as well as a mastery of word choice and mechanics. It was a pleasure to read a book for a change that didn’t leave me wincing from the poor editing. The characters were well crafted and believable, and their stories unfolded without feeling rushed or contrived. I would definitely recommend this gentle, uplifting book.
