After serving six years in prison for the false charge of manslaughter in the death of his wife, Kurt Jansen must overcome a world of bitterness if he wants to start a new life. But his first priority is securing a restoration job to pay a private investigator to find the real killer and a lawyer to get his kids back.

Hiring a convicted wife-killer isn’t what kind-hearted Molly Finnerty bargains for as part of the prison ministry she supports. However, she begins to believe Kurt’s claim of innocence and gradually finds a great deal to like about him—perhaps more to like than she should.

Can they overcome the past and find forgiveness and love?

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

This has a well written believable plot that made it hard to put down. The Christian message is there throughout the book but also there a strong story line. I loved the characters and was sad come to the end of the book. This is one book you will want to add to your library.

‘A Place to Call Home’ is a book about forgiveness. It’s about accepting God’s forgiveness, forgiving yourself, forgiving others, and accepting the forgiveness of others. The author did a great job of weaving this message throughout the book.

As two people with a hidden past are placed in each other’s lives they soon learn that through prayer and forgiveness nothing is impossible! ‘A Place to Call Home’ is truly a must read book and highly recommended for those of us who find ourselves in the middle of an unforgiving situation!

‘A Place to Call Home’ is a wonderful read. A powerful story of starting over, forgiveness, and learning moving on. I, also, think it is a perfect reminder that everyone has their own secret pain. The book does cover some heavy issues, but it is still a very clean read. I look forward to more by this author in the future. Highly recommended.

This was a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption. I got caught up in the story of Kurt and Molly. There was a lot of mistrust at first on both sides and I loved seeing them learn to trust each other and themselves. There was a lot going on in this story but was not hard to follow at all. Ms. Whren did a wonderful job and I can’t wait to read more of her books.
