Ex-teen and reality star Maizie Albright returns home (by judge’s orders) to Black Pine, Georgia. She’s determined to start a new career as a private investigator, modeled after her childhood starring role as “Julia Pinkerton: Teen Detective.”

For a license in Georgia, she needs training and there’s only one gumshoe in town, Wyatt Nash. He’s got a hard body, Paul Newman eyes, and no interest in having an ex-actress for an apprentice.

Particularly after she loses the client’s wife on the first day…

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Love this author and this book did not disappoint. It’s a lighter, humorous mystery with very interesting main characters. The plot is very intriguing and I can’t wait to read the next installment in this new series!

Love Maizie. She is a hoot. The storyline is solid and the mystery is great. I was wrong on the killer. Lots of twists that kept me guessing.

Maize is hysterical, resourceful, talkative in a way that begs for duct tape, and smart in ways she doesn’t realize. The cast of characters surrounding her are unique and unforgettable as she is, especially Nash and Lamar. The case Maizie tries to help Nash solve is so full of twists and turns that I was completely surprised at the end.

Larissa Reinhart has done it again. I already adored her Cherry Tucker series and was so excited she was starting a brand new series also set in Georgia. Maizie did not disappoint!! She is charming, quirky and a little bit bumbling but there is never a dull moment when she’s around!

From teen star to real life detective wannabe. Following Maizie on this path was so much fun or should I say funny. She continued to follow her dream job despite all she went through. I was kept in suspense until the end. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series.
