The world ended on a Thursday.

In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering zombies with an insatiable hunger for the living. There is no government. No shelter. No hope.

Still in her twenties, Cash has watched her friends die, only to walk again. An office worker with few survival skills, she joins up with Clutch, a grizzled Army veteran with PTSD. Together, they flee the city and struggle through the nine circles of hell, with nothing but Clutch’s military experience and Cash’s determination to live. As they fight to survive in the zombie inferno, they quickly discover that nowhere is safe from the undead…or the living.

The first of the 3-part Deadland Saga, 100 Days in Deadland is a journey through Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno”, the classic tale on the horrors of hell… zombie apocalypse style!

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

This is a zombie book from page one until the last page. There isn’t any boring pages setting up the world and characters you are quickly introduced to Mia aka Cash, and like you are along side by her you live through this zombie apocalypse. There is action, love, humor, sex and an ending that makes you want more!!!!!!

Book is thoughtful and extremely intelligent, which is sometimes hard to manage in a fictional setting. I enjoyed it and became very attached to the characters. You gave them just enough life to make them breathe on their own. Great work please put out another with Cash.

First rate zombie story and a credit to the genre. Aukes has crafted an engaging tale of post apocalyptic survival.

Aukes has a graceful and vivid writing style and masterfully writes snappy dialogue that draws you further into this story. The zeb fighting scenes are so well crafted and pulse pounding that you feel like you are fighting along side of Cash and Clutch. A thought-provoking story, 100 Days in Deadland is a one woman’s journey through hell that should not be missed.

Rachel Aukes has given us back the human part of the story. The zombies are there, but from the very beginning this is about humans and what they would do to survive. It gives us a look at the relationships that can be built from desperation and need. She had written a book that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go till you run out of pages.

About The Author

Rachel Aukes is the bestselling author of DEADLAND SAGA, including 100 DAYS IN DEADLAND, which was named one of the best books of 2013 by Suspense Magazine. Look for the final installment, DEADLAND RISING, in late 2014.

Rachel lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband and their incredibly spoiled sixty-pound lap dog. When not writing, she can be found flying old airplanes and trying (not so successfully) to prepare for the zombie apocalypse.
