“‘Love Comes Later’ is one of those beautiful reads that springs itself on an unsuspecting reader unawares, with its incredible poignancy and depth of feeling and character.” -Eliza W.

Hind is granted a temporary reprieve from her impending marriage to Abdulla, her cousin. Little does anyone suspect that the presence of Sangita, her Indian roommate, may shake a carefully constructed future. Torn between loyalties to Hind and a growing attraction to Abdulla, Sangita must choose between friendship and a burgeoning love.

A modern quest for the right to pursue love and happiness, even when it comes in an unconventional package, LOVE COMES LATER explores similarities between the South Asian and Arab cultures while exposing how cultural expectations affect both men and women. Identities are tested and boundaries questioned against the shifting backdrops of Doha, Qatar and London, England.

Too Jewish
by Patty Friedmann
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Genre: Memoir
Price: $0.99 Save $4.00
Make sure price is still 99 cents before clicking “Buy”.

“The Friedmann comic voice is filled with so much anger, outrage, astonishment, fear, resentment, and unleashed id that we readers nearly fall out of our chairs in wonder and laughter and shock.” -Oxford American

Too Jewish tells a story much like the central tale of her young life: her father suffered from survivor guilt, all the while trying to make his way in a hostile society. Like Patty’s father, protagonist Bernie Cooper escapes Nazi Germany, leaving his mother behind, then tries to make a life for himself with a wealthy, thoroughly assimilated Jewish girl in the Deep South. But suddenly, snobberies he couldn’t even have guessed at are set in motion. It seems Letty’s prominent Jewish parents hate him for being…too Jewish!

A bittersweet love story told in three novellas, each from the point of view of one member of the Cooper family.

I hate this new way of doing things. I can’t even figure out how to find the list of books.

Don’t care for the new format. Too much back and forth and clicking and time consuming. Seems like lately a lot of the books I have already had since last year.

BUT thanks for the free books. Helps when on Social Security and a avid reader.

Great site for kindle books!

I appreciate this resource, but if you are going to feature only a couple of free books per posting, why not just combine them and post once a day? I really miss the lengthy lists of free books, and I don’t think all the checking and clicking is worth the books I find anymore. Please reconsider your redesign.
