“Enjoyable and entertaining for those of us fans that have read all the known originals of Sir Conan Doyle.” -Robert S.

In this suspense filled mystery, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson disguise themselves as the residents at the crime scene and work undercover to expose the dreaded killer before he takes another life.

One quiet evening, Septimus Culthorpe stumbles into 221B Baker Street. He introduces himself as the leader of the Secret Seven – a mysterious group of seven monks who lead a simple lifestyle and reside in Grimstone Priory, an old cottage in Sussex. Two of the seven monks have been murdered in unusual circumstances.

The weapon remains unknown and Culthorpe suspects that both suffered a heart attack. However, he is apprehensive of the secret letter that both men received the day prior to their death. Alarmed by the two horrid and unusual murders in Grimstone Priory, Culthorpe seeks the assistance of the detective and his partner.

The group prepares a plan – Holmes and Watson will temporarily substitute the deceased monks and observe the possible suspects at the grounds in order to uncover the mystery. Once settled into the simple village life, Holmes and Watson gradually reveal the secrets that lie in Grimstone Priory.

The days following their arrival result in a series of strange events including the mystery of the missing jewels, doubtful identities of the monks and brutally slaughtered animals. Can the duo solve the case before a third member of the Secret Seven is killed?

“Castiglione is perceptive and witty and quite loving in the way he draws the people in the book….I enjoyed it, and I recommend it. You don’t need to be a scholar to enjoy it as well.” -frumiousb

The Book of the Courtier is the definitive account of Renaissance court life.

First printed in Venice in 1528 it rapidly became the go to book for young men and women who were looking to become the perfect courtiers and ladies. One of the most widely distributed books of the 16th century, it had editions printed in six languages.

Written in the form of a dialogue it captures conversations between some of the most influential courtiers of sixteenth century Italy, including the Venetian scholar Pietro Bembo, Guiliano de Medici who was at that time exiled from Florence, Elisabetta Gonzaga, wife of Guidobaldo di Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino, and many more.

Their conversation, set at the court of Urbino in 1507, was spread over four evening where each member attempted to describe the perfect gentleman of the court, in the process debating the nature of nobility, humor, women and love.

During the first evening they discuss whether a courtier should be militaristic or literary. The second evening involves a discussion of the courtier’s pastimes and manners. The third covers what it is to be a perfect Renaissance lady of the court, and the fourth discusses the role that the courtier should have in politics.

Sometimes we’re lucky enough to get that second chance – in life and in love. That Second Chance Series are stand-alone stories of strong women who battle heartache and loss with a courage and determination to find new paths and true love. What ties them together? A common theme: belief in the beauty of that second chance.

Not Your Everyday Housewife is Book Five of That Second Chance Series. A wise and humorous tale of living large after 40 as women finally make peace with themselves—wrinkles, blubber, neuroses, exes, and all.

Three women embark on a month-long “discovery” journey and uncover quite a few tidbits along the way…one bottle of Clairol Midnight will not cover a full head of red hair, and never talk to men wearing polyester pants hiked up with a tan belt. But most of what they unearth is about themselves—who they are, what they really want, what they really don’t want. The center of controversy is a Maid-for-You mixer, which symbolizes a boring, routine suburban life with no second chances—then along comes insight in the form of Tula Rae, a sixty-something salsa-dancing, Dalai Lama-quoting, four-time widow in Spandex and a gray braid who gives them a different perspective on life, love, do-overs, and the real reason a man buys his woman a Maid-for-You mixer, which she says is all about S-E-X.

If the zombie apocalypse happens tomorrow—how would you spend your last day?

All Dr. Brianna Lewis wants is a cup of coffee.

Coffee, to make slaving away in her cell culture lab at Green Fields Biotech a little more bearable on a Friday afternoon when everyone is home already.

What she doesn’t count on is a group of terrorists blowing up all the entrances to the building and taking her and a select few others hostage. Bree soon finds herself conflicted. Not only does she know their charismatic leader. She also starts to suspect that there is a lot more to this than the hunt for an illegal bioweapon—a virus that could potentially kill millions in just a few days—particularly as there is currently a flu epidemic raging across the country, and reports about violent behavior among the afflicted are getting more and more alarming.
