“It’s really engaging, fast-paced, the character development is really good and the writing is great, it’s sexy, hot, angsty and hilarious, one of the funniest books I’ve read this year, it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.” – Ana R.

Makenna Lewis cringes at any mention of the word commitment. She doesn’t want or need a relationship, but she does like sex (who doesn’t). That explains Noah, Sean, and Zander, her three ‘friends with benefits’.

They know the score, they know they’re not the only one, and each of them provide her with a different physical need that she craves and enjoys. Until a late night encounter with the delicious Daniel Winters turns her preconceived notion of no-commitment completely on its head.

Soon she finds herself feeling things she vowed never to feel again, and when Daniel pushes for more than she’s willing to give, she falters. What do you do when something that you’ve known to be so wrong in the past feels so damn right?

If you’re Mac, you run and hide. But is Daniel the type of man who takes no for an answer?

“A remarkable story about second chances, hope, and unconditional love.” -Sort of Beautiful

Seattle, 2010. When her entrepreneur husband dies in an accident, Michelle Preston Richardson, 48, finds herself childless and directionless. She yearns for the simpler days of her youth, before she followed her high school sweetheart down a road that led to limitless riches but little fulfillment, and jumps at a chance to reconnect with her past at a class reunion.

But when Michelle returns to Unionville, Oregon, and joins three classmates on a spur-of-the-moment tour of an abandoned mansion, she gets more than she asked for. She enters a mysterious room and is thrown back to 1979.

Distraught and destitute, Michelle finds a job as a secretary at Unionville High, where she guides her spirited younger self, Shelly Preston, and childhood friends through their tumultuous senior year. Along the way, she meets widowed teacher Robert Land and finds the love and happiness she had always sought.

But that happiness is threatened when history intervenes and Michelle must act quickly to save those she loves from deadly fates. Filled with humor and heartbreak, THE JOURNEY gives new meaning to friendship, courage, and commitment as it follows an unfulfilled soul through her second shot at life.

An old and haunted marauder… Tormented by demon voices, Eli Rathebohn is a wounded, lost soul. He’s not really living, he merely exists. Just one heartbeat away from ending his life, Eli decides that he’s not going alone. He’s determined to take an innocent man with him. In the midst of that encounter, God shows up… and Eli is transformed.

A simple man of faith… Johnny James is a civil servant—just a modest police Chaplain in a mid-sized southwestern town. He has no idea that he is about to be tossed so deeply into the fray. How can he possibly be expected to feed thousands, a virtual legion of wanting souls? Johnny has one outstanding qualification for the task—actually 3 in 1: He prays … he listens … he believes.

An auspicious Osage princess… Humiliated by an indiscretion, reporter Denise Grayhorn, daughter of an influential tribal leader, may have ended her own career. In an effort to redeem herself, she accepts a meager assignment. Little does she, or the world, know that this will turn out to be the most sensational news event of the year.

A searcher fallen from grace… Jared Suina has been raised on a Pueblo in New Mexico. Young and educated, he finds himself caught between his heritage and a yearning for something more. Will he find what he’s searching for? Does it even exist? In the center of two worlds, Jared finds more than he ever imagined.

Together these people will come to realize that life is not a single footpath, but a broad interchange. Where souls are linked and mingled, as in a chain of flames.

Revolt: The Secession of Mill Valley
by Ray Bourhis

How far are you willing to go to change a broken nation? Author Ray Bourhis’ latest novel, Revolt: The Secession of Mill Valley, asks us all this question. He also asks an even more important question: Can we change a broken nation?

His protagonist, Sean Cogan, answers these questions by daring a small town to walk away from The United States of America in this fast-paced, well-balanced, ripped-from-the-headlines, and thought-provoking novel.

Sean Cogan, a charming, independent, political malcontent, is convinced that America has become irrevocably mired in big money, greed and power grabs, and is certain that now is the time to revolt against the destruction of this once great country.

Like many across the country, Sean Cogan has simply had enough. A corrupt financial system, politicians bought-and-paid-for by major corporations, our laws inequitably applied against the “have nots,” and excessive taxes “stolen” from the people to pay for political pork are as un-American as you can get, and mocks the founding principles upon which this once great country was built.

At least that’s how Cogan and his fellow Mill Valley residents see it. And Cogan plans to do something about it. Now. Believing that no matter who is President, and regardless of political affiliation, we are no longer a country “of the people, by the people, for the people.”

He believes that we have become a nation held in a vice grip by powerful Wall Street interests and corrupt multi-national corporations. He thinks most people are too ambivalent, too distracted and too afraid to do anything about it.

He thinks reform movements are a joke, that there is no hope in working within the system and that if something dramatic doesn’t happen right now, the very concept of self-government will become obsolete. Unwilling to simply accept this, he decides to shake things up.

With the support of a few close friends of differing political persuasions, he registers an initiative for the town ballot in the small town of Mill Valley, California, to secede from the Union.

Town Hall meetings, national debates and interference by powerful Washington operatives lead to Cogan’s appearance on a National talk show moderated by a reporter involved in an underhanded scheme to bring the initiative to a crashing halt – and destroy his integrity in the process.

The resulting publicity turns the initiative into a man-bites-dog news story across the country. Sean is pursued by reporters, confronted by bloggers and commentators, and captures the eye – and despair – of the nation.

Only a visit to a gutsy CNN reporter, and collaboration by supporters, force shocking revelations to the surface, and the tide begins to turn. Could this really happen? Yes. Should it happen? Readers will have to decide for themselves.
