You Can Now Give Kindle Books As A Gift

In the history of Amazon.com the Kindle is the most gifted item of all time. Now, you are able to give Kindle books as gifts to anyone – whether they have a Kindle or not. The only thing that the gift recipient needs is an email address.

Kindle books can be read not only on the Kindle devices themselves but also on all devices that have Kindle applications such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Droid, Mac, PC, and Blackberry.

Amazon had this to say:

“We are thrilled to make it easier than ever for our customers to give their favorite Kindle book to a friend or family member as a gift,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President, Amazon Kindle. “We’re making this functionality available in time for the holidays to offer an easy, stress free holiday shopping option for anyone – not just Kindle owners.”

Giving a Kindle book as a gift is pretty simple to do. Just go to the Kindle Store and find the book that you’d like to give and select “Give As A Gift” and send to anyone with an email address. The recipient receives a notice in their email inbox instantly and then can redeem their gift in the Kindle store. They can then read the book on their Kindle or on any of the devices mentioned above with the Kindle app.
