Offer Your Blog As A Kindle Subscription

by Greg on January 5, 2010

If you own a blog and would like it to get more exposure and also earn some extra money for it, you should think about offering it as a Kindle Subscription. You probably won’t get rich from the subscription revenue but the extra readers that you’ll get could help you make money if you have you blog monetized in other ways. Most blogs pay between $.99 and $1.99 per month and you get 30% of the revenue. Another thing to keep in mind is that the monthly subscription fee for your blog is determined by Amazon, not you.

The first thing you need to do to start publishing is go to Kindle Publishing For Blogs and create a new account – your existing Amazon account will not work at this site.

You will need to do a few things when you go to the sign up page. The first step is giving your name, email, and password. Step 2 just asks for three security questions such as first car, school mascot, etc. Once you do that you just need to check the box saying that you have read and accept the terms and conditions (after you read them, of course) then click the “Create Account” button and you’re all done signing up.

The next thing you do is click the “Add A Blog” button at the top. When you do this you’ll go to a screen that says “We require some more information to complete your account. Please complete the following steps to continue to add your blog.” On this screen Amazon asks for your address, tax id number, phone number and bank account info. If you just want them to send a check you won’t have to enter your bank info but it will cost you $8 per check. Then you click on the “Continue To Add Blog” button, fill out the required info and you’re set to go – if they approve your blog.
