What happens when the perfect man isn’t, and the wrong man is … perfect?

If there is a list of Good Reasons to Date Somebody, surely “to get my friend some backstage soap opera gossip” is not on it. But if the friend in question is your oldest friend, and you’ve got nothing better to do since your most recent ex-boyfriend just got engaged to someone else — well, why not?

Jenna just wants to be left in peace to lick her wounds over her ex’s new engagement. Jenna’s best friend Kari just wants to score soap opera spoilers — among other things — off of scruffy soap star Mitchell Cole. When it turns out that Mitch is interested in Jenna, Kari cooks up a scheme for Jenna to go out with Mitch, so that Kari can pass on insider information to her online friends.

Jenna thinks Kari is out of her mind. Jenna’s ideal man is tall dark and handsome, well dressed with a great job. Mitch isn’t any of those things. He’s the anti-ideal guy. But how do you say no to your very best friend when she wants something only you can give her?

When she agrees to the plan, and Mitch turns out to be nothing like she imagined, Jenna is forced to step out of her comfort zone, face some truths about herself, and rethink what it means to be a good friend — and what it means to have found the perfect man.

George, the part-owner of an investment bank funded by black money, is on his way to the former Soviet Republic of Lithuania to conclude what his Lithuanian contacts think is a big deal but which he knows is a scam. His Armani suit, Gucci cufflinks and Prada shoes disguise a man who is losing his touch. It is his ex-wife? Is it his boss? Is it his bank? He is not sure, but he can sense the knives are out.

George thinks he is going to line his banks pockets at the expense of his Lithuanian victims saving face in the process, but the Baltic crew prove to be much more savvy than he had thought.

George, a firm believer in mixing business with pleasure, goes in search of female company in Vilnius. He finds more than he bargained for at a local nightclub in the shape of the magnificent Zoya, who wrecks both his bed and his head before taking off into the dark, Baltic night, leaving George with a monumental hangover or something worse.

He suspects he has been on the wrong side of a Mickey Fin, but there is no apparent reason, because nothing seems to be missing, not least the bank codes which are the key to his scam.

Feeling rough, he attends the hospital where another surprise awaits him, he encounters the night doctor….Zoya. Is there a connection between this apparent angel of the former KGB wards and the woman of the night who left him with such a devastating headache? Is he imagining things?

Obsessed now with what happened to him and why, George gets back to business only to find that his lost evening was a warning and the doctor doesn’t prescribe twice.

Cavnal has been at peace for nearly a century. Magic, once revered, is now the object of contempt. And anyone unfortunate enough to be born with its powers has been banned from the nobility and pushed to the fringes of society.

All his life, Prince Tarik has known that if the world discovered his secret—that he was born a mage—he would lose everything. But when a wave of violence in the city points back to an underground society of mages, everything changes. Only Tarik has the power to infiltrate their ranks. Only he can learn the truth about a plot that could destroy everything he loves.

But nothing can prepare him for the life of lies he will have to live to win a place in that society. Or for Hayli, a shape-shifter mage who is unlike any girl he has ever met. She might be the one to destroy all his plans…or she may be the only one who can save him from himself.

Together they face a dangerous web of sedition, crime and violent ambition, where nothing is as simple as either of them believed. And what they discover will challenge everything they thought they knew about loyalty and betrayal, love and honor.

“A debut romantic mystery that spans centuries, with a modern love story at its center. . . . British history and contemporary conspiracy collide in this satisfying novel. ” -Kirkus Reviews

The people Nicholas Carey has loved are all ghosts: his mother, the world-famous concert pianist; his wife, Deborah, the most beautiful woman in England; and Diana, Princess of Wales, his most trusted friend and confident. How many nights has he spent talking to Diana about his marriage, about her marriage, about his guilt over Deborah, and about the impossibility of being in love? Too many to count. He aches to tell Diana how empty his life has become without her and without Deborah, but he can do nothing to bring them back. Yet he can expose Diana’s killer. Taylor Collins, a Wall Street lawyer, has the tape Diana made naming her assassin, and he is determined to get it.

Taylor does not want to spend Christmas at Burnham Abbey overseeing the sale of the Carey’s ancestral home to her client, an American school for girls. Nicholas Carey, the Eighteenth Duke of Burnham, holder of a five-hundred-year-old title, is a spoiled selfish international financier; and Taylor would far rather be in New York, pursuing her high-powered legal career and hoping her fiancé, who left her at the alter months earlier, will return.

But night after night, Taylor hears Nicholas at the piano playing the haunting pavane for all the lost princesses in his life because his broken heart will not let him sleep. By day, she reads the tragic love story of Thomas, the First Duke, knight and liegeman to Henry VIII, who founded the Carey family but who never recovered from the loss of his beloved wife. Just as Taylor realizes Thomas’s unmeasurable capacity to love is hidden beneath Nicholas’s shallow public facade, Lucy, Nicholas’s mysterious ward, turns up dead. Taylor’s heart is stretched to its limits as she searches for the truth about Nicholas and comes face to face with Diana’s assassins.
