“Great, authentic old-time western story.” -Paticia A.

Hellhole, Kansas, was no ordinary town.

Like other places, it was comprised of desultory businesses, saloons, livery stable, bank, and clapboard homes, clinging to life by their figurative fingernails.

What set this hider town apart from other post-Civil War outcroppings of civilization was that it also housed a United States Marshal’s office.

Hellhole was known to the authorities in Topeka as the place where lawmen went to die.

Claw Kiley had served in the Union Army during the Civil War, being discharged, as he had entered, a private.

That fact hardly qualified him for a Federal position, yet he knew something about deputing, having served under the legendary Marshal Jack Duvall before the War.

Duvall was widely regarded as the best man ever to wear the badge, yet he had been gunned down on the street of some unnamed town by a man seeking a reputation.

Kiley had been the youth who outdrew the man who killed Jack Duvall.

That alone made his resume worth considering, and as his life expectancy was deemed to be short, the government agents offered him the job on the expectation he could do little harm in the time he served in the position.

Bright-eyed and with faith in the almost mystical power of the badge he wore, Marshal Kiley drew three rapid conclusions about his new town: the residents of Hellhole still seethed over the outcome of the War Between the States; a girl working at the Lowdown Saloon would become very important to him; and outlaws held no respect for the Law.

His first order of business was to teach the citizens to put the late conflict behind them and develop a respect, if not a friendship for the Federal man. His second, get to know Miss Cougar Bradburn; the third, to survive against those who took what they wanted by the power of guns and sheer audacity.

How he succeeded would determine not only his own fate, but how the law of the land was to be carved out of hell.

“Simmons has a remarkable imagination.” -Fantasy Bookshelf Review

The land of O lives in fear of magic. Magic comes from the darkness, just as the shadow plague does.

The shadow plague brings the darklings who are mindless and corrupting.

When Abagail comes in contact with the shadow plague, she knows she either has to control it, or be cleansed with sacred fire.

Abagail Bauer doesn’t believe in other worlds outside her homeland of O. She believes they are just fantasy, something that belongs to the books her father reads.

But when her father finds she’s caught the shadow plague, he sends her to live with her Aunt Mattelyn in a world known as Agaranth. Mattelyn is the only known person to be infected, and to take control of the plague.

Joined by her neighbor, Rorick Keuper, on a quest of revenge against the darklings who destroyed his home, and her seer sister, Leona, Abagail sets off across the rainbow bridge to Agaranth in hopes of curing herself of the plague.

But Abagail finds that her infection is only the beginning of her ill fate. When she arrives in the new world, she’s far from where she needs to be.

On top of that, she must brave the winter of this new land, along with the darklings that hunt her.

#1 Amazon Bestsellinger

Set against a 1969 psychedelic love-in backdrop, The Girl From Long Guyland is shared through the eyes of Laila Levin when decades later, an unsolved murder pulls her reluctantly into her past. A dramatic collision of then and now — entwining family, marriage, profession and ethics.

Laila enjoys a successful marriage and a thriving career as an I.T. executive in Austin, Texas, but she can’t quite shake her lifelong sense of not truly belonging anywhere.

When her company announces a major layoff, Laila finds herself caught between an unscrupulous CEO and her promiscuous boss.

Then news of her college roommate’s suicide stirs up a dark secret involving three devious friends from her past.

One has betrayed a vow, another wants to rekindle their romance, and the third is out for revenge.

Suddenly for Laila, it’s 1969 again. She’s only seventeen, and she’s left her sheltered home in Long Island for college in Connecticut.

Amid protests of the Vietnam War, she’s tempted by the sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll that rule her generation.

Laila gets swept up in a deceptive love triangle with two older locals and initiated into their unethical hippie family.

Too late she realizes her search to belong has led to tragedy.

Laila must now juggle the demands of her perplexed husband and her baby boomer past forcing her to make choices that endanger her survival and challenge her conscience.

She learns that the lines between right and wrong are often blurred, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.
