“The House’s Money is an exciting and riveting read for general fiction collections, highly recommended.” -The Midwest Book Review

Passionate, idealistic, young Matt Whiteside has just landed the job of his dreams. Dressed to kill and running on pure ambition, he enters the ranks of mortgage-backed securities traders twice his age for one of the most prestigious firms in San Francisco. Life couldn’t be sweeter. But the roller coaster has only just begun. When he meets a beautiful woman also on the upward move, his dreams appear to be unstoppable. But unbridled love too often hides the truth in its shadow and not everything is as it appears.

As he discovers the world of mortgage-backed securities, experiencing a soaring financial wave never seen before, Matt is welcomed with open arms into a seductive arena almost too good to be true. When insatiable greed raises its ugly head, jealousy and betrayal follow quickly behind. In a moment of brutal clarity, his world shatters with the realization he is merely a pawn in someone’s wicked game. Just as quickly as it all began, his dreams slip through his fingers as he struggles to hold on to a world that never really existed.

What could go wrong?
by Linda McGourty
Rating: 4.7 Stars
Genre: Humor
Price: $0.99

“Loved this! It was laugh-out-loud funny…and very well written.” -Ai Jen

This is a book full of short humorous anecdotes about the everyday life of a menopausal woman. Life never goes how you intended it to be and some how we learn to roll with, and laugh at the punches. If you’ve ever loved a dog or tried to cram yourself in a pair of Spanx this novella is for you. If you’re a middle aged woman, I think you may relate to the hot flushes at inappropriate times, the hair migrating from you’re crotch to your chin and things you didn’t even know you had, jiggling every where.

Women that learn to laugh at themselves never lack for entertainment. The grammor and syntax isn’t that of an English text book, it’s written in a relaxed, less than perfect manner for ease of reading, more like stories between friends. Writing about menopause and being over 50 isn’t pretty, but someone has to do it!

Joclyn is in hiding, hunted by the man she still desperately loves. Ryland is gone, his mind erased; no memory of Joclyn remains, but Joclyn’s heart desperately begs her to hold out hope. Meanwhile the black-eyed monster that possesses him attempts to kill her over and over again. If it wasn’t for Ilyan, Joclyn would be dead by now. Ilyan, the man who once stalked her, is now Joclyn’s protector, the only person she has left. He protects Joclyn from the men who seek to end her life, and all the while, she is haunted by dreams where Ryland begs her to break the bond between them.

Ilyan is there. Always there. Ilyan trains and prepares her, teaching her everything she needs to know in the hope that one day she can avenge Ryland, if not protect herself from him. And then, there is her father. The man who has never been there is suddenly responsible for everything. And who he is has made Joclyn into something she never wanted to be: The Silnỳ.
