“Wonderful, unlike anything I have read before. If you are looking for something different to take your mind on a journey this is a great book.” -Deb

Commuters see their Departed on Boston’s Red Line subway trains. Consultant Harry West is hired to investigate by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. His project turns personal when his ex-wife Alexandra Ben-Tov meets their beloved daughter on the Red Line who looks like the teenager she might have become if she had lived.

Are the visitors on the Red Line ghosts or hallucinations? Either way, after Harry’s team discovers the source of the visitations, the MBTA declares that it will bring them to an end. Alexandra has a brilliant idea: Build Visitation Rooms that replicate the features of Red Line train cars so that people can continue to meet their loved ones.

But not everyone approves. The Archbishop of Boston seeks to get Visitation Rooms banned in Massachusetts. And a gangster who frets that his victims will come back from the dead warns Harry and Alexandra: Cancel Opening Day for the first Visitation Room, or else.

“It turned out to be an excellent book. It is dystopian but with a thriller and a bit of paranormal vibe to it. It’s a great mix, with great suspense. I really was sucked into this strange world that Jill Cooper created.” -Michelle L.

Susan Monroe doesn’t ask for much: good grades from her children, a house with room for a pool, to be the best Tupperware party host in New Haven 56. But inside her tranquil 1950s styled community, a monster lurks. A monster that lives inside Susan, and every one of her superficially perfect neighbors, held in check by the oppressive police state that rules over them.

Susan’s happy life is torn apart when her teenage son goes missing the same night an explosion rips apart the community. Susan knows it’s only a matter of time before the police start breaking down their doors. Before the reconditioning begins and Susan’s identity is lost, she must do one final thing. Find her son.

Maggie Baxter has been keeping secrets for more than twenty years. They’ve taken a serious toll on her health and her marriage. Now the pressure of all those secrets is beginning to chip away at her sanity. Maggie loves her husband, Alex, but she’s terrified that she will lose him and their children. When her past just included anorexia, stealing, and a mental institution, she had a chance to make Alex understand. But how can she explain rape, murder, and a pedophile? Every day she lives within a carefully constructed web of lies waiting for the perfect moment to tell Alex the truth.

But perfect moments only happen in fairy tales and Maggie’s life is no fairy tale. The pressure is now so bad she’s beginning to hear voices. When a tragic incident thrusts her family into the national spotlight, Maggie is forced to make a decision. If she tells the police everything she knows, all her secrets will become public knowledge. If she doesn’t, she will add another unbearable secret to all the rest. Maggie knows this could cause her to lose her last tenuous grip on sanity. Either way she knows she is going to end up in a very bad place.

Seven years ago, two life altering events happened to me within one week: I delivered my first baby, and I took a year’s leave from work. I spent the next two weeks in a panic-induced haze so thick I had to scrape it from my eyes when I woke each morning. I was in a panic, how was I going to make ends meet, let alone save for our future? This book is the story of the system that I used to reduce my grocery bill by over 50% week in week out and got my life back together.

Imagine the feeling of being in control knowing that your grocery budget has been cut in half. This isn’t magic, but a well developed system of organization and planning that allows you to maximize your grocery savings.
