“The book has much to recommend it – it has time travel, code breaking, villains, and action. I was hooked from the beginning. It’s a fast read for an adult, but seems just about right for a fourth, fifth, or sixth grader. I thought I’d read for a bit and then pick it up again later, but I read it straight through.” – Kristie T.

Warning: if you enjoy romantic tales about princesses dressed in pink, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!

Auggie Spinoza is a ten-year-old boy with a secret: he is a special agent who can travel through time. Now, he finds himself locked in a desperate battle against evil forces trying to change the course of history. To defeat them, Auggie must pursue a dangerous quest to find a set of mysterious clues hidden in the past.

With the help of a clever new friend and advice from a cast of famous characters with names like Jefferson, Darwin, and Plato, Auggie fights to fulfill his destiny and save his world from ruin. Along the way, he learns the importance of thinking clearly and shows the awesome power of a code-breaking, book-loving, time-traveling ten-year-old with a talent for being in the right place at the right time (and doing the right thing).

Ours is not the only Universe. Some have things we really don’t want to meet.

Can Three Unlikely Heroes, The Warrior, The Scientist and The Child, Save the Universe?

No one knew where the gates came from, the wondrous planet sized globes whose millions of facets led to destinations across the Universe. No one knew what had killed the thousands of civilizations that had once roamed space across the billions of years since the origin point. Whatever it was, it was back, with a vengeance, destroying the intelligences that might challenge its hegemony of multi-dimensional space. It is up to a few humans, endowed with the very powers the creatures fear, to save sentient life in the Universe, and end the threat forever.

Lucille Yamamoto is a warrior, the captain of an Earth Navy battle-cruiser. Howard Turner is a wealthy scientist, physicist turned archeologist, trying to discover the secrets of the ancients. Siobahn Hunsicker is the child of missionaries, controlling powers she does not understand. Together the three are the only hope for the extant intelligences of the Universe. If they have the time to survive the learning curve and challenge the weavers of reality.

What’s with the lumping in of the bargain books with the free books?
If I were interested in bargain books (and hey sometimes I actually am) I visit the bargain books link at the top of the page.
When I want free books I visit the free books link.

Now you have the two together, with far less free books than normal :( and yeah if not paying attention…well I clicked a link for a bargain book thinking it was a free book. >:(

I mean thanks for all the leads to the free books all this time, but I think from now on I’ll just be visiting the top free kindle feed as this is the second book site that started lumping in free with bargain (and you guys were my favorites!) and I really don’t like this putting free and not free together…especially when the ones I actually came here for, the free books are buried under the bargain books forcing folks to scroll past them or make a mistake and click one like I just did.

Not liking this new format….too much to sift through. My time is limited to do this daily.

I do not like this format–too time consuming. I have to click into each separate part to get the books–and don’t have time for that. Please, please go back to the new format. Many thanks for all the books, really appreciate it, though. But newer doesn’t make it better.

Putting the bargain books with the free isn’t going to make much of a difference. If people are only here for free books, they will still ONLY be here for free books. In the meantime those of us who are enjoying the free books and buying from the authors later are being shorted and the authors we could have found here are being shorted. You were a great list for sampling an author’s work (especially in the series!) and getting some really treasured finds, but with this, I’m seeing 2 bargains and 2 free.

I kept coming because you guys have the best listing, but this isn’t worth the wait to load the page. You can keep doing what you’re doing, it’s your website, but I think the majority agrees this is not a good move. I will definitely unsubscribe if this remains. In this economy I’ve become more choosy about buying books, and with these free books I’ve been able to still support good authors. If it wasn’t for this list I wouldn’t still be buying books right now. Even .99 is too much if it’s wasted.

I don’t like this new format at all. I also don’t like the fact that you are listing books that aren’t free along with the books that are. You don’t have as many free books and you have to click on the links before you can see the books. Change back. I think, I too, will go to the free books section instead of messing with this.

Have found some awesome new authors through these freebies….and ended up buying new books from some of them!
This is a great way to try new books – and authors!

If this is a new format….GET RID OF IT!
Far too time consuming for busy people!
Lots easier the ‘old’ way….free or discounted, some of us don’t have the time to peruse this format!

Thank you for sharing the books, free or not! I know how to read and find out if they are free or not!! I have no complaints. I really appreciate what you do!!!

We are making changes to the format based on changes that Amazon is making with us. We’d prefer to keep it the old way too as it was less work for us but the change in format is necessary and we apologize for any inconvenience.

I agree don’t like this new format at all bring back the original

12 Gwen Riggin October 30, 2012 at 11:48 am

I don’t like this new format, either. It was so much simpler to see if I was interested in a selection by reading the synopsis; I also was able to elminate quickly any books in a genre that I’m not interested in. I don’t know why this is being forced on you, but it will result in many more unhappy customers.
