Kindle Scout Award-Winning Author

One Guy’s Guide to Saving the Day with Food.

For the record, this cookbook was Jillian’s idea. So was the hashtag, #hotguycooks. She thought I should share my mad cooking skills with the world. Well, maybe not the whole world, but people like me who have partners with an aversion to kitchens. We can’t let them starve, can we?

For those of you who don’t know me, when I first met Jillian all she had in her fridge was a jug of water, a jar of mustard and a half loaf of bread. Her freezer was empty except for an old bag of ice. I thought, “Damn, what does this woman eat?” Now I’m the only thing standing between real food and Jillian living on a steady diet of yogurt, cold cereal, and chocolate.

This isn’t your ordinary cookbook. It’s more like a medley of favorite recipes, some seasonal, all done Raine-style. Check ’em out. I skew toward organic when it comes to ingredients, and where I can, I substitute a healthy option. #sorrynotsorry. Most of my recipes come with tips, advice, and a small slice of my life with Jillian. The goal: to make you look like a culinary rock star to your significant other. So, come on, step inside the Roost. Poke around and see what’s cooking. Pull up a chair and hang out. The kitchen’s open.

“This is a really well done satire of a middle management how-to book, using fairy tale villains as basis. It’s written in a very matter-of-fact dry style, which makes it even better.” -Levey

Successful villains aren’t born. They’re made.

Unless you’re born into the role of hero or handed it by misguided fairy godmothers, you can never hope to achieve anything beyond the measly life you’ve got. At least that’s what the fairy tale fops would have you believe. They prefer people to think that only divine destiny allows others the right to join their exclusive club, but fate isn’t a good enough reason to let the heroes get all the glory.

However, from “once upon a time” to “happily ever after”, heroes have stacked the deck against the intrepid villains. Until now.

Geoffrey P. Ward is the world’s foremost (and only) fairy tale villain consultant, and in this guide, he outlines all the critical tips for success you need to achieve your villainous goals. Whether looking to overthrow a kingdom or put your unruly stepdaughter in her place, Geoffrey P. Ward’s Guide to Villainy will give you the tools and knowledge you need to succeed.

“If you are curious about the Russian court at the turn of the nineteenth century then this is the perfect choice. It was written by a woman who was there and experienced the Russian revolution first hand. I found it fascinating.” -Victoria T.

In October 1917, the Russian Empire was ripped apart by the effects of the Revolution.

The court of Tsar Nicholas II, once one of the most glorious courts in the world, was devastated in a few short months and the lives of those who knew it were changed irredeemably.

Anna Viroubova, a lady-in-waiting and confident of the Tsar’s wife, Alexandra Feodorovna, witnessed this destruction first-hand.

Her memoirs, Memories of the Russian Court, takes the reader from her entry in 1905 into the world of pomp and power at the center of the Russian Empire, through the subsequent twelve years that she spent with the Tsar’s family, finally providing captivating insight into the turmoil of the Russian Revolution shook the foundations of her world.

Particularly fascinating are the chapters that focus on Grigori Rasputin as she attempts to set the record straight again detractors like Alexander Spiridovich who claimed that Viroubova was Rasputin’s “fanatical admirer, the driving force of his cult, and was at the head of his loyalists”.

Viroubova explains of the great strain that the First World War placed upon her country and how she assisted as a nurse through those years before she was arrested and thrown into prison by the Bolsheviks. But even through these dark days Viroubova remained in contact with the Tsarina Alexandra through letters thus providing continuing insight into the last few months of the Imperial family’s life.

Memories of the Russian Court has been published to commemorate the centenary of the Russian Revolution and to provide readers with a view into how life was before, during and after this momentous event for those at the top of Russian society.

Anna Virobouva eventually escaped prison to Finland where she lived out her final days in Helsinki in 1964. This book was first published in 1923.

BANISHED LOVE (Book One)

I’m suffocating under the weight of others’ expectations. If I have to sit through one more afternoon tea, listening to my simpering stepmother extoll the benefits of traditional roles for women, I fear I’ll scream, “The world is changing. It’s 1900!”

I want more from life than she can imagine.

If she knew of my interest in Gabriel, she’d have a fit of the vapors. She’d bemoan his humble beginnings and lack of wealth rather than recognize his integrity or his loyalty to his brothers. If she saw how he stares at me, as though I’m a puzzle he’s trying to solve, she’d lock me in my room. He fascinates me, as no one has since that awful day.

How can we surmount society’s prejudices and allow our love to grow?

RECLAIMED LOVE (Book Two)

Committed…

To living a life she desires with the man she loves, Clarissa Sullivan continues to teach poor, immigrant children and to agitate for the vote for women as she awaits Gabriel’s return to Boston. Will her stepmother leave her in peace or is her life about to change again in unforeseen ways?

Convinced….

Clarissa is the woman he now wants to marry, Cameron Wright renews his pursuit of her. Charming, wealthy and well-bred, he is perceived as the ideal gentleman for a blacksmith’s daughter. With Gabriel far from Boston and his return uncertain, why should Clarissa continue to reject Cameron?

Devastated…

After his banishment from Boston, Gabriel McLeod forges a new life in a remarkable city. Will the memories of the love he shared with Clarissa sustain him?

Will Clarissa overcome deceit and treachery and reclaim her love?

Breaking Steele – Amazon

“Awesome! Top notch storytelling, sometimes disturbing but very compelling writing..good chemistry and great supporting cast of characters.” -Walter W.

The most dangerous game…just might be gaming itself.

Gory video game violence comes home to roost when two store managers are brutally murdered in the back room of their gaming shop just before peek holiday season. The corporation that owns the store is doing everything it can to keep the matter quiet—but they won’t succeed if detective Jasmine Steele cracks the case. Because said corporation has plenty of skeletons in its closet; and one of them is far too familiar to our heroine…

Kimberly Amato serves up a heart-pounding, chilling addition to the Jasmine Steele hard-boiled mystery series—a fast-paced police procedural that’s as gripping as it is eerily personal. And it comes with a captivating (although, as Jazz might say, a slightly “nerdy”) bonus: a heaping dose of the fascinating ins and outs of video game subculture. Which is far more murderous than the average reader would suspect.

A routine call lands hardass detective Jasmine Steele and her longtime partner Will Everts at the scene of a grisly crime—two employees of a mega-corporation called Gamer Syndicate are discovered in a pile of blood, tortured, with their throats slit, and cocaine on or near them. Just as Jasmine begins to suspect the meticulous job was done by a calculating professional, she gets a jolting confirmation—literally: the joint blows up while it’s full of cops. All signs point to the shop being involved in activity much more treacherous than video games.

Understandably, Gamer Syndicate isn’t pleased with the notion that a murder was committed on their property. Not to mention that you can’t have a double homicide with drug implications when you have a billion-dollar game release in a month or so. But what Jasmine can’t abide is their apparent refusal to cooperate with the authorities—at all. The sole witness is a 19-year-old kid named Tucker Winslow, a clerk at the shop. And his employer’s keeping him silent.

Jasmine thought she was done playing games with criminals. Suddenly the case is full of them. And she has a hunch her old nemesis, the corrupt—and downright evil—Garrison clan, is at the control panel.

Alongside her big brother-esque ex-Marine partner Will and smart, savvy (not to mention sexy) girlfriend, psychologist Frankie—with some loving comic relief from her live-in nephew Chase, who’s growing up way too fast for her comfort… Jasmine must navigate the complex ins and outs of greedy corporate America at its most corrupt to solve a gruesome murder mystery—and finally put a ruthless enemy to bed.
