There is an app called Collections for organizing your books on the Kindle Fire. I put my books in by type and status (example: Paranormal Romance and Unread) and it helps me to keep my books organized and ready for the next read. I also believe that there is Book Collections so check out both before deciding which one to buy.

Also I find that Search works well for looking for my popular authors.

Install Go Launcher and you can open your Fire right to a desk top like screen with icons, you don’t have to use the dreaded carousel. Kindle failed big time with the Fire by not giving you anyway to organize your book collection. I have decided not to purchase any more ebooks because of this. It’s just too hard to find books when you get too many on there.

Not real happy with this. I should have read the description more carefully before buying it. I was hoping that I could organize my books with this app, but nope, not that I have been able to find. I can’t even find my books from the mobile desktop.

Heather, glad you’re enjoying the app and finding it useful. Unfortunately the Kindle Fire device blocks apps from completely sidestepping the carousel operating system, so simply tapping the icon to open once the device is started is necessary. It’s the best that’s possible within Amazon’s restrictions on the device.

Just got it, installed it, synced it to my cloud account, and am very happy with the whole shebang. Thanks, i’ve been waiting for this!!

BUT. how do i get my Kindle Fire to open to my desktop instead of the carousel? I’ve always sort of hated the carousel, so defaulting to the desktop would be a 100% win in my opinion…
