Twin sisters are born in Medieval England. One of the infants is dying and is taken to the Witch of Devonshire, who uses supernatural powers to transport the ailing babe to the future. It is the year 1986 when Cathy Hayes, a woman who has lost her child and husband in a car accident, finds the baby at her doorstep, gets her the medical attention she needs, and raises the baby as her own. Morgan grows up in the twentieth century with a mysterious attraction to a hollow suit of armor that stands in the window of her mother’s antique store.

Morgan is twenty-four years old when she becomes entangled within the armor’s metal plates and is whisked back in time where she is mistaken for Amanda Forrester, a twin sister she knows nothing about. In Amanda’s place, Morgan is forced to marry King Henry’s favored knight, Derek Vanguard, Lord of Braddock Hall. Abandoned by his mother and having failed as a child to gain his father’s love, Derek’s heart is as cold as the stone walls of his castle.

In the end, Morgan discovers the true power of love and for the first time in her life she knows where she belongs.

Forgiveness is the most attractive of the virtues. Until you actually have someone to forgive.

When Melissa Stonelea’s born-again Christian husband Grant is found strangled in the bondage room of the city’s classiest brothel, a page of the Bible stuffed in his mouth, she doesn’t need to hear more of her pastor’s sermons on the healing powers of forgiveness. She needs revenge.

Enter private detective Johnny Ravine, seeking the quiet life in Australia after more than twenty years as a freedom fighter in East Timor. The murdered man was his best friend. But, as he starts to investigate the slaying, a mysterious phone call and then a bullet through his window plunge him into the heart of a deadly terrorist conspiracy.

Suddenly he finds himself locked inside a shady world of stock market manipulators, sex workers and underground militia, while desperately hunting the killers. But Johnny is concealing a violent past and demons of his own. Can he crack the mystery before he himself cracks?

In Johnny Ravine we have a brilliant but flawed hero who is plunged into the far reaches of the human psyche – forced to confront a cycle of evil that could destroy him and all he loves. But also forced to confront the evil that lurks in his own heart.

This stunning book is everything a hard-boiled, private eye thriller should be – relentlessly powerful, fast-paced, full of twists and with a heart-stopping climax that will leave you gasping.

MOM, I’M TOO FAT TO PLAY! And with that my four year old burst into tears. His school friends had told him that because he was fat he couldn’t play with the group and had to sit on his own during lunchtime.

After I reassured him he was fine and I had calmed down a bit (ever want to kill your kid’s friends?), I let my mothering guilt take over! Was he overeating? Was he heading for obesity? Sure, he was a little bit chubby, but wasn’t that just normal? By the time my husband came home I had myself convinced that my son would be obese by the time he was five and have health issues for the rest of his life.

While the above incident was relatively mild, it was the catalyst for this book. Can you imagine the torture that some overweight kids go through every day at school, and the bullying or name calling doesn’t end when they leave school!

The sad fact is that childhood obesity is a huge problem (pardon the pun!) and one that is increasing. More kids are overweight than ever before and the problems start almost as soon as a child is born. How many babies have you seen eating their dinner in fast food chains? Or eating a bag of chips (crisps for the UK reader) in their stroller? One bag of chips can contain over 100% of the recommended salt allowance for an adult. God only knows how the child’s liver and kidneys are going to deal with that excess salt.

Poor diets also lead to problems at school. Apart from the bullying my middle son experienced, there is also the issue of behavior. If your child is misbehaving at school or getting poor grades, the answer could lie in his diet and general lifestyle.

I was feeling so guilty about reading so much of the time and not trying to make conversation with my husband very often, that I did the best thing I could… I bought him his own kindle and loaded it with books that I knew he’d love, and now we both read and then share thoughts of the books we’ve read. It’s great! I highly recommend buying them their own. I’d asked him once about doing that and he said no, I don’t have time. Ha! Did it anyway and you wouldn’t believe how many times a day he picks it up to read!
