It all began with a line of Persian poetry . . . Anna and Nouri, both studying in Chicago, fall in love despite their very different backgrounds. Anna, who has never been close to her parents, is more than happy to return with Nouri to his native Iran, to be embraced by his wealthy family. Beginning their married life together in 1978, their world is abruptly turned upside down by the overthrow of the Shah, and the rise of the Islamic Republic.

Under the Ayatollah Khomeini and the Republican Guard, life becomes increasingly restricted and Anna must learn to exist in a transformed world, where none of the familiar Western rules apply. Random arrests and torture become the norm, women are required to wear hijab, and Anna discovers that she is no longer free to leave the country.

As events reach a fevered pitch, Anna realizes that nothing is as she thought, and no one can be trusted…not even her husband.

The moment widowed Lady Faye Rivellaux sees the tall, commanding warrior riding toward her, she senses the danger in him–a powerful sensuality that she has never experienced before, especially not in her marriage bed. Fighting her unexpected desire, she clings to her promise to rescue the kidnapped little girl she loves as her own. When he demands a ransom she cannot meet, she offers her one last hope: a gold cup.

Former crusading knight Brant Meslarches never expected the widow he was ordered to meet to be a tempting beauty. Nor did he expect to see such a chalice. Worth a small fortune, it’s proof that a lost treasure of the legendary Celtic King Arthur does exist–as Brant’s murdered brother believed. Of all things, the lady has offered Brant the one means to redeem his terrible past.

He makes her a deal: he will help her find the little girl, if she will help him locate the treasure. Faye is uneasy about an alliance with the handsome, scarred rogue, especially when he stirs up strong yearnings within her. Yet, she has no other way to find the missing child. Risking all, she joins Brant’s quest, and as the passion they’ve both denied flares between them, they find a treasure worth more than gold.

Genre: Lifestyle
Price: $0.00 Save $17.00

Henry’s Farm is in central Illinois, some of the richest farming land in the world. There, Henry Brockman and his family — five generations of farmers, including sister Terra — farm in a way that produces healthy, nutritious food without despoiling the land. Terra Brockman tells their story in the form of a yearlong diary/memoir — with recipes — that takes readers through each season of life on the farm. Studded with vignettes, photographs, family stories, and illustrations of the farm’s vivid plant life, the book is a one-of-a-kind treasure that will appeal to readers of Michael Pollan, E. B. White, Gretel Ehrlich, and Sandra Steingraber. The book opens a window into what sustainable farming really entails and why it is vital and relevant to everyone who eats. Though rooted in the rolling oak-hickory hills and fertile fields and flood plains of the Mackinaw River Valley, the book ranges widely, incorporating literary, scientific, and culinary reflections occasioned by the week-by-week events of farm life.

All these Amazon.com free books have inspired me to appreciate my new way of reading. I download the novels on my beloved Kindle for daily outside activities with reading opportunities : then, I have the same novel in hard covered copy from the library to read at night from my bedside table. That enhances my lifetime devotion to hard cover copies without depriving me of today’s opportunities. Thank you so !

Thank you so much for posting these books. I hope to see more medical thrillers but I am not complaining. I have found many authors that I would have never given a second look at the bookstore. What a great way to find new talent!
