Set in 1787 in West Africa, The Call of Zulina opens as the scorching harmattan winds blow. Desperate to avoid marriage to an odious suitor, Grace escapes the family compound only to be caught up in a slave revolt at the fortress of Zulina. Soon, she begins to grasp the brutality and ferocity of the family business. Held for ransom, viciously maimed by a runaway slave, and threatened with death, Grace is finally jerked into reality and comes to sympathize with the plight of the captives. She admires their strength and courage and is genuinely moved by the African Cabeto’s passion, determination, and willingness to sacrifice anything, including his own life, for his people’s freedom.

When her father dies, Maud learns that her mother, the beautiful Eleonore, whom she had never known, was from Sweden. She travels to Stockholm to meet her Swedish family and discovers both a new country and a mysterious past.

Maud also learns that Lukas, the handsome older man she meets, was deeply in love with Eleonore in his youth. Maud’s attraction to him is marred as details of Eleonore’s past emerge from family letters.

The story that is revealed, that of a rebellious and somewhat immoral young woman, shatters Maud’s fantasy of the fairytale princess she had always believed her mother to be.

Only when Maud reads her mother’s final letter does she learn the truth about her own parentage, and Lukas.

It’s late. In Westminster a well-respected government minister lies dead in the Department of Education, scattered pills and whiskey bottle on his desk.

Low ranking civil servant Caroline Barber discovers his body, but is convinced the minister wouldn’t take his own life. When Martin Fox’s death is quickly forgotten by the press, Caroline fears the real reason for his death will be buried with him.

She embarks on a mission to uncover the truth, recruiting hard-nosed investigative journalist Angela Tate. But Tate only agrees to help in exchange for confidential government information.

Torn between her quest for justice and her loyalty to the department, Caroline reluctantly turns whistleblower, putting not just her career at risk, but the safety of her family.

As her enemies get closer to discovering her identity, she unearths a scandal powerful enough to bring down the government. But will she get the chance to expose the corruption before she is silenced permanently?

CANCER CRY
by Paul Sanderson & Briggs Sanderson
Genre: Memoir
Price: $0.00 Save $4.99

FACTS AND INSIGHT CRUCIAL FOR EVERY PATIENT AND CAREGIVER:

“…the frightening, unfamiliar beginning, feeling overwhelmed in the middle of it, staving off a seemingly unstoppable downslide, or maybe even despairing at having fallen out of remission. Whether you’re a cancer sufferer or caregiver, this book should enable you to take control far beyond whatever may seem possible to you right now, and that control may be life-saving as it would have been for Briggs…”

“Once Briggs was diagnosed I began hundreds upon hundreds of hours of research. I’d written articles on nutrition and so I knew the drill, and it repeatedly saved Briggs from yet more harm and markedly improved her condition time and again…as virtually every procedure a cancer patient will routinely encounter comes up, I’ve included comprehensive facts, chronologically as we came to need and know them…along with insights on drugs, radiation, harmful standard hospital procedures, alternative treatments and supplements (most of which don’t work but some of which do, remarkably so). Reading it’s one thing to be prepared, but having the experience and research there to be able to refer back to is what I needed so many times.”
