~ In 1789, on the eve of the first Presidential inauguration, charismatic Lion Hampshire aspires to a seat in the first Congress. In an effort to improve his rakish reputation, he agrees to an arranged marriage with Virginia-bred Priscilla Wade. However, his fiancée’s headstrong lady’s maid, Meagan, is not who she seems to be and Lion’s carefully crafted future may be undone by his passion for the wrong woman…

The Midget’s House (A Circus Story…A Love Story…A Ghost Story)
by Anita Bartholomew
Rating: 4.4 Stars
Genre: Literary Fiction
Price: $0.00 Save $3.99
Subject to change back to full price at any time.

The Midget’s House is a tale of two women (one alive, and the other long dead), each mourning lost love and struggling for control of the one place that feels like home.

Marisa Delano is thrilled when she unexpectedly inherits the fairy tale-like cottage on the bay–until she learns that Lucinda Lacey, a sideshow midget who died on the property in 1924, still inhabits it. As Marisa searches for answers about the unwelcome presence in her new home, all the clues lead to one conclusion: on the day Lucinda died, she murdered her lover, circus owner Cyrus Parker.

Alternating between Lucinda’s and Marisa’s perspectives, The Midget’s House takes readers from the carnivals, circuses, and freak shows of the early twentieth century, to the boom-and-bust of today’s Florida.

Haunting in every sense of the word, this genre-blending tale will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

Barnabus Bailey
by Sandra Franklin
Rating: 5.0 Stars
Genre: Children’s Books
Price: $0.00 Save $0.99
Subject to change back to full price at any time.

In the quiet town of Quietville an unexpected visitor appears after an unusual storm. Barnabus Bailey is not like anyone they have ever met. Not only is Barnabus dressed strangely, he is rather noisy, which is considered undignified in Quietville!

The townspeople are not very neighborly and soon learn a very important lesson about kindness to others.
A wonderful tale for all to enjoy!

@Elizabeth – I’ve downloaded lots of these free books. Do you have your Kindle on and the Wireless turned on? I make sure to do that every time I download a book. Not sure if I have to or not, but it can’t hurt.

I too received the Kindle Fire for Birthday/Christmas and I love it. I was a Barnes and Noble member and always their for the sales books. I love to read and sometimes had limited space to carry 3000 page book. I love the free books and so glad I found this site. I have read more books in the last 2 months then I did in 6. Thank you for the free books.
