A woman returns to her hometown to help unite two rival high schools under one roof. It’s her dream job…with one very big hitch. The cowboy who broke her heart owns the security firm that’ll be protecting her and her students.

As the new head principal of Heart Lake High, Hope Remington oversees the task of busing students from the tornado-devastated farming communities to the uptown business district. For the first time, the students of the longtime feuding Remington and Hawling families are housed on the same campus. An immediate spike in fighting and student gang activity erupts.

But that’s not the part of Hope’s job that gets her pulse racing the most. She’s just been informed that Josh Hawling, the bull riding champion she used to date, will be serving as her head of security. She’s so not looking forward to her daily encounters with the cocky cowboy. Or being socked in the heart all over again by his devastating smile. Or having to finally face the fact that she’s never gotten over her first love.
