Torch Thorvald, an unhappy warrior, rescues a friend’s daughter from the clutches of Sir Geoffrey Griffin and his sadistic aide, Glyss. Hotly pursued, Torch’s party seeks asylum at the Myre, the island home of Mizar, an alchemist who pretends to be a wizard. Torch realises that the Myre could become his home if he dares to lead fishermen and outlaws against the forces of a kingdom.

Myre is a medieval fantasy for humanists, technology nerds, martial artists, feminists, and anyone who loves the history of science. The “magic” is all real within the limits of medieval alchemy, metallurgy, mathematics, and medicine.
