After years as a black ops CIA agent, nothing surprises Roy Kincaid, yet his current assignment is close to a bust. How could his target—renegade genetic freaks—drop off the radar as if they never existed? Burnt out and discouraged, he hunches over a meal in a backwater diner when a half-frozen woman with the look of an abused runaway staggers through the door. On his feet in an instant, Roy kicks himself. His first instinct is to help her, make certain she stays long enough for the bluish cast to leave her lips. His second is to finish his meal and leave. The world is full of broken women. It’s not his job to fix them, but he can’t take his eyes off her.

Glory’s telepathic ability blares a harsh warning. Roy hunts those like her, but damn if he didn’t buy her dinner. Maybe she can fool him, just for tonight. Add a dry motel room to the meal. If she plays it very cool, he’ll never find out she’s on the run from the same group he’s targeted for death.

Enhanced genetics only go so far. A roadblock and her face on a Most Wanted flyer shatter her fragile truce with Roy. If her Handlers find her, they’ll kill her. If Roy finds out what she is, she’ll be worse than dead.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Ann Gimpel has done it again. She has woven a web of intrigue and romance into a story that leaves you wanting more. Come into my web said the spider to the fly, Ann Gimpel’s is the spider, Winning Glory GenTech Rebellion Book 1 her web, and we, we are her flies, gladly stuck in her web waiting for the next installment.

I enjoyed this book! It had great characters with a fantastic mix of paranormal, romance, and military. Fast paced and action packed with just the right amount of steaminess. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down!! I can’t wait to read more about these characters.

This is the first book I’ve read by Mrs. Gimpel, and boy, she did not disappoint! A mixture of genetic engineered humans, CIA, unknown abilities, and romance and you have Winning Glory. I wanted to stay up all night long so I did not have to put it down. It was such an amazing book and I’m am impatiently waiting for book 2 in the Gen Tech Series.

The plot is wonderfully developed. Ann Gimpel is brilliant at writing scenes you can’t help but feel. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys suspense, sci-fi, and even the paranormal.

Amazing, brilliant, cohesive. I could go on through the alphabet. The fact that book has genetically modified humans, the CIA, and the nameless, action, love and a extraordinary story brings it all together. This is a phenomenal read!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

About The Author

Ann Gimpel is national bestselling author. She’s also a mountaineer and vagabond at heart. She’s stood on top of some really gnarly peaks, and discovered that Zen mindfulness comes in very useful when the only other option is screaming your lungs out or curling into a fetal position because you’re too scared to do anything else.

She loves to travel. 2014 was the “Antarctica Year.” So far 2015 has been mostly writing, but that’s about to change. After two trips to the southern pole, she’s headed for the Canadian Arctic and the Northwest Passage. If she gets really, really lucky, she’ll come back with photographs of a Narwhal.

Arctic Update!! No narwhals, but I did post polar bear photos on my FB wall. Love to have you check them out.

A lifelong aficionado of the unusual, Ann began writing speculative fiction a few years back. Since then her short fiction has appeared in a number of webzines, magazines, and anthologies. Her longer paranormal romance and urban fantasy books are available in print and e-format, and she recently made the leap into self-publishing. She’s loving the freedom and it’s possible she’ll never look back.
