Bored accountant, Andrew Engels, has an epiphany when he learns that kids barely out of high school are handed small fortunes for half-baked ideas and empty promises of future revenues.

Scott Davis, an experienced crime reporter at the Gold Coast Times, has recently been reassigned to cover business news for his struggling employer. When he starts digging into the New Economy, where teenagers can become overnight-millionaires, he finds a lot more than expected.

Everything is definitely not as it should be on the Glitter Strip. Girls have been disappearing for years….

Tuna Life is a truly original thriller about the new rock stars of society – the tech entrepreneurs – and the power we all give them.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

As modern as the book is, Erik Hamre manages to raise an important issue, what do people download with blindness on their phones and how it may influence their lives. It may influence you more than you think. I really loved the book and the idea behind it and I highly recommend it for any type of reader.

Tuna Life by Erik Hamre grabs you from the first chapter. As I read the book I wondered how the story would come together. I loved the ending and did not see that one coming! Tuna Life is a fabulous read. It will immerse the reader in the Australian culture and the story will keep the pages turning. I recommend this book.

I didn’t know what to expect from a book named Tuna-life, like some story about the sea, but the truth is I love this book. It is a simple book about life, about what has happened to all of us that once need to start all over again…

*******

Set in the Australian Gold Coast, this book grabs your attention from page one and holds on to it through a well-developed, continually unwinding plot line and character development. The plot brings together a rather bizarre mixture of people…Hamre manages to make a logical connection between this strange cast of characters and wraps all the loose ends up neatly.

This book is addictive! With its many twists and turns, the story holds your interest from beginning to end. Tuna Life is intriguing and exciting, made even more so by the realization that the events could actually happen outside of its pages. I’m looking forward to more books by Erik Hamre.

About The Author

Erik is not your ordinary author. Passionate about writing since his teenage years, he one day decided to take the leap; to quit his day job and write a novel. Impatient by nature, he hired a great editor and self-published. Three years later that career break has resulted in five techno-thrillers.

The simple idea behind Erik’s authorship is to write books he would have wanted to read himself. He describes his books to exist in the interface between non-fiction and fiction; or what many people refer to as techno-thrillers. He spends roughly half his time researching the books to ensure that the quality is what his readers have come to expect, and then tries to write an engaging fast paced story that hopefully makes the reader come out of the process with more than just a feeling of having been entertained for a few hours.

So far the themes Erik has explored in his books are:
49 Days and Day 50: Fast paced Sci-Fi thrillers exploring psychedelics and spiritualism.
Tuna Life: A gripping serial killer thriller exploring internet start-ups, greed and privacy.
The Last Alchemist: A fast paced mystery thriller exploring the history of wealth creation and ancient mysteries.
Dangerous Brains: A murder mystery exploring the potential dangers of Artificial Intelligence and technology.

Erik is a former banker/finance guy, educated with a Master in Business and Economics and a MBA. He currently lives in Sydney with his wife and son.
