Underwater, everybody can hear you scream, but they can’t tell where you are…

It’s a picture-perfect summer afternoon on a pristine beach near a ghost seaport on an uninhabited island. What could go wrong? But things do, when two bodies wash ashore and Ketch stumbles upon clues that lead to the sunken treasure of an old-time buccaneer off Portsmouth Island. Ketch isn’t the only one who has an interest in the treasure, and it exposes both him and his adversaries to unexpected obligations and consequences. It seems everyone has to pay the port fee…

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Garrett Dennis has another winner in The Port Fee! A quick read that held my interest all the way through. The main characters are well described, both in looks and personality. I really like the descriptions of the beaches and ocean, I feel like I am actually there, and I want to see these beautiful places preserved forever, for the flora and fauna and the people who love these places to be able to enjoy them.

Another great read by Garrett Dennis. This story is a non-stop thrill ride with plenty of action. Garrett Dennis has done a wonderful job creating an intriguing story line with interesting characters. A book well worth reading.

Once again, Storm Ketchum is living his life and stuff interferes. Stuff like bodies, possible pirate treasure and a ghost. Ketch has come a long way from book one of this series and he keeps ebbing and flowing, much like the tides and all of us do. Garrett Dennis has created truly memorable characters, and I am looking forward to more of his adventures.

*******

Fast paced and exciting, a real page turner. It will keep you up late reading!! Full of drama and intrigue in Garrett’s quite unique style of writing. He has a great knowledge of scuba diving and the history and environment of the outer banks. As usual, his vocabulary is astounding! The philosophical musings of the main character continue to be very interesting.

Once again the intrepid Storm Ketchum is caught up in things beyond his control. Pirates, Spirits and all around bad guys abound in the latest installment of Ketchum’s adventures. Once again Mr. Dennis brings to life the sights, sounds and people of the Outer Banks while weaving an extremely interesting history lesson with a fast paced mystery. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who likes some reality interwoven with their fiction.

About The Author

Garrett lives in upstate New York, where he and his wife serve as housekeeping staff for two rather spoiled dogs. He has graduate degrees in biology and computer science. After a career that ranged from testing experimental drugs (legal ones, and not on himself!) to developing computer operating system software, he decided to retire from the real world and try his hand at writing fiction. Garrett lived in coastal North Carolina for a while some years back, and the current focus of his writing is a place that’s very special to him, the Outer Banks region of North Carolina, which he still visits as often as possible. There are now three books in his Storm Ketchum Adventures series of quirky Outer Banks suspense novels, plus three short Storm Ketchum Tales.
